The two have a love-hate relationship. Nekros is the true overlord of Atrusix, granted her own realm by Zohar for everyone's safety after being hunted for trying to survive; Deuce met the same fate but was sent to Atrusix rather than having his own realm. At first, Nekros made sure to bully him into submission and he was her servant, her most powerful one at that. It does get a bit lonely in the afterlife though, and over the years they got to know each other. As Nekros began to realise he was powerful enough to compete with her, she offered a mateship to him to prevent this; it was better to be equal than overthrown. She still has the final word over all and he Deuce is rather submissive to her. They try to impress each other with gifts and shows of strength, but the other will always be upset at the fear of being outdone.
