● MARBLES (ENCHANTED ACCESSORY): 3 small orbs with a glowing, yellow trail resembling will-o-wisps that circle around Monty. the enchantment causes those who come near him to forget where they were going.
● FALSE TRAIL (ENCHANTMENT): it leaves a trail of glowing, orange petals behind him like breadcrumbs. it can leave a trail up to a few meters away from him. it can break off from the original trail leaving new paths of winding petals leading nowhere.

depressonal wetlands born from glacial activity that fill with rain and snowmelt in the spring. it's located in central North America bordering Canada and the US (map).

his stalks are permanently in its fruiting stage reminiscent from when he was first transformed.

his existence feels just like when he was a butterfly. he hates his continued groundbound state even tho he's supposed to be able to fly. he also has this nagging feeling he's supposed to go somewhere, but he has no idea where. however, now he doesnt feel rushed by time and has all the time to get his shit together.
adventurous • hitchhiker • well-meaning
to others, he's fairly harmless but he does unintentially make those near him a little disoriented. regardless, sometimes getting lost is part of the fun. he's down for adventures as far as his tiny stature can take him sometimes hitching rides from unsuspecting victims. he has not grasped language yet, but he does understand the general tones in speech.
original life
he was once a monarch butterfly with deformed wings. no matter how long he dried his wings since coming out of the crystallis, it appears it was never straightening out. he couldn't fly upwards resorting to climbing around, bound to the ground and plants. when it came time to migrate, he couldn't. he was left behind and he could only walk and glide so far. as the seasons changed and on his last breaths, he was found and transformed into an esk.
new beginnings
when he was transformed, he remained on the ground, unmoving. he passed time from fall to winter seeing odd dreams about lands he has never seen before. when he had finally woken up, he was alone. he felt different, but that wasn't on his mind at the time. all he could think about was that he had to go somewhere.. but where? he had no idea. he merely picked a direction and walked.
