"When the land was cursed, so were the inhabitants regardless of their sins, from king to smallest child all turned...  yes, I suppose... even the smallest child would have wants, innocent and childish as they are, and so the curse twisted them. I remember it clearly, parents tossing their own infants from windows in horror, calling them monster before ever seeing their own faces."

"Everything fell to chaos. People... what were once people... went mad. Even my own teacher... she... took her own life, so I took over here for what students remained. I was barely more than a student myself, but that is what kept us sane. Reading. Whispering. Using our minds, not letting them fall to the darkness and misery eating at our very souls."

"Still, years passed, and my students dwindled, and now I am alone... I've kept my mind, reading and rereading. Eventually I tooking to rewriting the endings of the books over and over and when I tired of those I circled by to the old fairy tales I was told as a young child... when I ran out of paper, I wrote upon the walls... when I tired of writing I memorized them and whispered the stories to the mice within... any who will listen. I will keep my mind."

"Eventually, there were few left who were still sane, and wandering these streets is a dangerous sport. The maddened ones, trapped within their prisons of flesh and chaos, will hunt anyone foolish enough to explore our city.. To those who ask me advice on how to survive in this hellish, forgotten place, I can offer you just this: hush..."

"But you... why are you here? A lamb, you say? And what would you do to the wretched creature? ..... ...blood? You would sacrifice it? You need not kill a beast for blood. And consider... what you seek may no longer be a lamb. ...you're a reasonable sort compared to others... I know not why you're here, or why you need such a thing... but some fragment of me hopes beyond hope you're here to cleanse this place of its curse."
