Kassius Sarmad

It's amusing how one's memory begins to fail them once enough time passes. I can't remember when I arrived at this manor, nor when I decided to fall into a deep slumber like I did. The man who I was before turning into this... thing is now lost. I only have vague mementos to remind myself that, yes, I was indeed once a human. By the worn weaponry and scarring I possess, I believe I was once a hunter. In the present day, however, I feel more attuned to a king.

When I opened my eyes, I was met with an eager bunch of men. Monsters just as I am surrounded me, but they never dared to harm a hair on my head. I knew they were the ones that brought me out of my slumber. It was as if I was reborn a new. I only remembered my name, Kassius Sarmad... Quite the elegant name, isn't it?

The group of fellow vampires had told me that they spent centuries trying to wake me. My rest didn't feel that long, but I trusted their word and their ecstatic expressions. They needed protection, and this manor was what could harbour their damned souls. They even kept the place in beautiful shape. It was as if I was given my own loyal servants the moment I stepped foot in this world. The least I could do was provide them a home and protection. In turn, they offer me sacrifices of woodland animals for me to feast upon. They have told me they would be content with the scraps I leave them, but I always make sure to leave extra food for their health.

I have yet to leave the manor and explorre the modern world. In all honesty, I have no desire to for the time being. I'm perfectly content in my little kingdom, however... I can tell that my subjects are becoming antsy. That is the folly of a monster, yes? We have a desire to feast upon more... intelligent prey. Perhaps a human will stumble upon our doors soon enough, bit until then, I will keep my subjects at bay. My, I can't even remember the taste of human blood come to think of it. How curious...
