Profile

Cassie, as you can see, is a Dutch Angel Dragon! They are good and pure, and enjoy helping others whenever they can. They are extremely loyal and have sworn to protect all good living beings, taking on the role of a healer and guardian. Cassie considers themselves to be genderless (although that's not to say that they don't have *something* in their pants), and can go by any pronouns. They like almost everything, and don't mind scary things. Their only dislikes are rude beings (duh), and the Rulers of Paradise. As for what they wan't most, Cassie longs for three things above all else; They want to fly, they want to be a parent, and they want to see their brother again.

DAD Lore:

Cassie, like all Dutch Angel Dragons, once resided in Paradise. Life was good for a while, and they ran and played and had fun with all the other Dutchies. But as time went on, it became apparent that Cassie's wings would never grow. Their wings were small and useless, rendering them flightless, and once the other dragons realized that it wouldn't change, they became scornful of Cassie. One Dutch did not leave Cassie's side, however, and defended her against the others whenever he needed to. Cassie and he grew close, and eventually Cassie started to call him their "brother". As far as the two are concerned, they *are* siblings. Cassie and her brother managed to amass a small group of friends, however, despite how pure they claimed to be, the other dragons just simply couldn't accent Cassie for their glaring weakness.

Cassie started to spend their days looking down upon the beings that inhabited Terra. Not in a scornful way, like so much of the other Dutchies would often do, but rather in a curious way. Cassie would even take journeys to Aether to watch the mortals on a closer scale. Cassie found everything about them fascinating, from their immense diversity, to their customs, to their emotions. It scared Cassie how the beings of Terra were able to commit such evils, while also putting them in awe whenever Cassie witnessed an act of great benevolence. It was just so odd! All the other dragons claimed that the beings of Terra were beneath them, that the dragons were naturally greater and incapable of sin. But, Cassie did not lose her interest for the beings of Terra, despite their jeers. Slowly but surely, Cassie realized a shocking revelation: They wanted to leave Paradise and be like the inhabitants of Terra. Flawed, yet capable of great good. Mortal, but granted with the gift of life. Able to make their own choices and decisions, happy, free.

Cassie began to feel a great sense of longing, and a void began to grow inside of them. They only became more ostracized from the rest of the dragons-- Cassie was too different. Dutch Angel Dragons were not meant to be one with Terra-- they were guardians of it, loyal protectors, but separate from it all the same.

However, unknown to them all, Cassie and the rest of the dragons would remain in Paradise no longer. Though the dragons, so in tune with the energies of Paradise, had noticed a shift in the energies that made up the world, couldn't expect the turmoil to come. The war came suddenly, and Cassie found themselves in the midst of the greatest conflict that Paradise had ever witnessed. On one side were the dragons that had once bullied Cassie, so allied to Paradise that they refused to acknowledge its flaws, refused to accept natural change and fairness. On the other side was Cassie's brother, who was perhaps one of the most loyal followers of the being that wished to restore balance to Paradise, for he had seen the great injustice that dragons like Cassie suffered and realized that beings claiming to be models of perfection and purity felt negative emotions all the same. Paradise was a land where perfection was key, and those that did not fit the land's rules were shamed, and that was something that needed to be rectified.

Horrified, Cassie jumped into the fray, desperate to save as many lives as they could. They healed dragons from both sides, aided by the few friends that accompanied them. Suddenly, one of Cassie's friends alerted them. Cassie turned, and saw their brother flying through the air. A spear had been shoved through his midsection, likely as the result of one-on-one combat. Silver blood streamed down his sides and stained his fur, and Cassie knew that it was not all his own. Cassie's brother opened his jaws, letting forth a guttural battle cry. It was chaos.

The end came quickly. A lightning bolt shattered the dark gray sky, and Cassie let out a cry as their brother was hit. He shuddered, fell limp, and began careening towards the earth. A great chasm opened up, and Cassie felt the world around them crumble. They uttered no sound as they were pulled towards the darkness...

...When Cassie awoke, almost all the dragons from Paradise were among them. They knew this feeling, they were in Aether. Energy surrounded them, released by the passing of those lost in the war. Cassie began to call out for their brother, quietly at first, but then so loud that their voice became raw. Eventually, they were stopped by one of their friends. There was still a chasm within the earth, but it was slowly closing up. When they paid attention, Cassie knew exactly what it was. The hole was filled with energies of chaos and negativity, now completely banished from the Paradise. Instead of accepting change to build a new and better life for its inhabitants, the rulers of Paradise had simply removed all balance from their realm. And now Cassie's brother was down in the Abyss.

It took the combined strength of Cassie's friends to keep them from going down and retrieving their brother, their only family. Cassie collapsed and began to sob. Nothing would ever be the same again.

Eventually, though, Cassie began to build up some semblance of the life they had before. Cassie travelled with their friends, acting as a guardian to the denizens of Terra. Free from the rule of those that controlled Paradise, they made some certain modifications to their body and were happier with themselves than they had ever been before. Cassie does not miss their muzzle ring, and does not miss the dragons that they knew in Paradise. The only thing that Cassie does miss, however, is their brother. And so they wander the world, doing good deeds when they can, constantly searching for the only family that they've ever had.
