Cora is the Captain of the Knights of Favonius Diplomatic Relations Division. With ancestral roots from Mondstadt as well as the ancient region of Enkanomiya, Cora brings a unique perspective to her role as Head Diplomat for the City of Freedom. Serene and patiently astute, she is known to always sit down and listen to the problems of the people whenever she is back from her travels, soothing their worries, earning her the title Halcyon Knight.

Her outfit is a combination of a halter top and tailcoat embroidered with a water-like pattern all the way down the coat tails and accented with gold ornaments with symbols similar to the Dainichi Mikoshi from Enkanomiya. The shirt is a very light blue with sleeves stopping at her elbows and adorned with wave patterns, light blue crystal ornaments and green ribbons.
Light blue two-finger gloves that begin just above the elbow lie underneath golden gauntlets inlaid with luminous Crystal Chunks that glow a soft blue-green.
She wears a dark teal belt where her Hydro vision lays with shell-shaped clips on either side attached to her top.
Detailed teal and gold armored boots inlaid with the same crystal chunks used in her gauntlets cover her lower legs and feet.

Cora is noted to have a soothing presence and incredible patience, known to always take the time out of her day to talk to anyone who needs her. These qualities have earned her the title “Halcyon Knight” and “Peacemaker of Mondstadt” by the nation's people and made her especially popular with the elderly and young children. She has a strong sense of keeping the peace and large dislike for conflicts, always looking for ways to prevent them. Hence she always reminds others, "If you ever have a problem, I will always listen." She's a patient lady, who enjoys resolving problems for the people she encounters; however, Cora has a bleeding heart and will go out of her way to help others even before herself, tending to become quite apathetic towards her own internal struggles. This often results in burnout where she needs lengthy times of complete solitude to reflect on herself.

Although one of the newer Captains, she takes her work seriously, driven by a strong desire to protect all of the people she cherishes by ensuring peace between the nations. Her work as a diplomat usually requires her traveling all across Teyvat, always moving from one nation to the next and rarely having time to return to Mondstadt, sometimes leaving her homesick. But when she can return, she treasures the time spent back with her friends as much as possible. Although she enjoys the delicacies of Mondstadt, she can't help but reminisce about the foods of her homeland, particularly dishes with rice in them like rice porridge or onigiri. Whenever her duties take her back to Inazuma, she always makes sure to bring some treats back with her to share with her friends.

Cora has a fascination with marine flora and fauna, often commenting on the pristineness of Cider Lake or chatting to the fish in the stream around Windrise. She loves thunderstorms and will often go on walks in the rain, much to the chagrin of some of her colleagues. She also is very curious of the land of her ancestors beneath Watatsumi Island, Enkanomiya, and asks the Traveler many questions once they mention their ventures there.

One of the things Cora learned early on was treasuring all of the people in her life. If she can provide support in any fashion to those who need it, she deems that a worthy purpose to live for.

The calming waves, no matter where she is, will always remind her of her childhood home on Watatsumi Island.

Traveling

Though her job can be tiring and tricky, for Cora, nothing beats the enjoyment she receives from setting off on a journey and seeing the wonders of Teyvat.

Has a dreadful sweet tooth and sometimes needs to be reminded to take it easy on the amount of desserts she eats...

Conflict

Though a constant obstacle in her profession, it doesn't make Cora like it any more. Fighting and butting heads leaves no room for discussion and no solutions to be had.

Let's just say the desert in Sumeru is not one of her favourite places to visit.

Disappointing others

Cora takes her role and her position as a representation for her nation extremely seriously. Any mishap can lead to negative relations between Mondstadt and the rest of Teyvat. She vowed that she would always do her best to ensure peace for her current home.

Sea Food

Her unique skill being able to communicate to marine life since she was a child put the idea that they were all her friends. How could she eat her friends!?

Character Details

Cora's mother is a shrinemaiden of the Sangonomiya Shrine on Watatsumi Island hailing from the Yuna Clan, one of the oldest clans on Watatsumi Island taking part in the original exodus from Enkanomiya 2,000 years ago. Today, they are known as one of closest and oldest serving clans of the Sangonomiya Clan. Cora is noted to have exceptional skills with a polearm and is a highly renowned diplomat usually described with a kind-hearted, soothing disposition. It will later be revealed that she is related to the twin sisters of the Yuna Clan, Mouun and Ayame, who took part in the war between the Raiden Shogun and Orobashi. Mouun was noted as, "being a wise and gentle woman, [who] was good at mediating quarrels." In addition, Cora grew up being taught the customs of her clan in order to become a Sangonomiya Shrinemaiden, though the art of the polearm was only taught and passed down by the women in her family. Ayame was an umigozen and the original wielder of the polearm, Wavebreaker's Fin. Cora's ancestral ties to these twins can be seen as an explanation for her current characterisitcs.

Cora's father, Paxton, on the other hand, was a Knight of Favonius and the previous Head of the Diplomatic Relations Division. One of his assignments was to head to Inazuma, specifically Watatsumi Island to discuss agricultural trade and during this meeting is when he met Cora's mother, Mizuko. They would eventually fall in love and have Cora, settling on Watatsumi Island. Unfortunately, each parent's duty to their nations kept them from completely settling down. For the first years of her life, Paxton would travel back and forth between Inazuma and Mondsatdt to fulfill his duty to the Knights. While her father was away, Mizuko would care and teach Cora the ways of a Sangonomiya Shrinemaiden. But when she turned nine, her parents decided that it was time for Cora to see the rest of Teyvat, so she would leave with her father to live in Mondstadt while her mother stayed on Watatsumi Island.
