As a beast born in The Circus, Tom is very much used to his life, and as he works in the carnival among the most vibrant and friendly of beasts/performers he has a pretty easy life.

He gets bored easily, occasionally getting into trouble with the staff - usually for eating the smaller insects and 'showpieces'. His favourite snacks are the luminescent butterflies used as moving spotlight in the big shows.

He knows Johann, he'd say he gets on with him to a certain extent, but he doesn't understand his obsession with following the rules; he doesn't understand his hatred for his lifestyle. Johann dislikes him, but tolerates him.
