shes just a dragon. but not any normal dragon!!! shes some sort of star dragon (aka a species/race associated with space, celestial bodies, etc) and she is ur typical preteen/young teen protagonist destined to save the universe or whatever. thinking like kids tv show vibes - steven unvierse, sailor moon (i started watching sailor moon recently which is like my main inspiration rn), etc. except its dragons. and equinox has cool star powers (the black halos are a part of it).
shes like 15-17 years old, skittish and scatter-brained, tends to panic at the mention of danger but by luck (and cool star powers that shes still getting used to) she doesnt die, and eventually finds the bravery to defeat whatever evil is after her. im thinking she either stole some hidden power or she inherited from her parents or something, and the power is kinda taboo (maybe its evil powers??) but shes trying to use them for good and to help people yadayada
One of the characters in her story is Imos, a divine/heavenly/angelic being of light. Has light powers (that are also considered "good" powers compared to Equinox's "evil" powers). He's a bit older and more powerful/experienced, and is meant to be a buddy/mentor/side character to Equinox's story. Helps her solve mysteries and practice her powers. Except Imos is incredibly self-absorbed and loves his reflection more than anything else. Not exactly like, mean? or evil? he has a good heart and good intentions, he can just be selfish at times. Doesn't like getting dirty, leaves Equinox to deal with trouble herself, etc. Imos is convinced that there's good (or light) in everything - he can't comprehend the idea of someone or something being completely evil (which is why hes helping Equinox, he doesn't see her powers as evil).
