Zero

A bit of a reclusive oddity, Zero isn't actually an organic living Chimereon. He is, underneath it all, a golem made in the shape of one. Tall, intimidating, and intense, he acts as a protector and archivist of sorts for an ancient secret crypt well hidden- invisible to even the most observant of eyes... Duty-bound, he finds himself shackled to its potentially living, breathing walls. A spell placed upon it long ago distorts the area around it, making it look like nothing but an open field. What lies inside it is anyone's guess- only Zero knows for sure, and he's hardly one for spilling secrets...

While Zero's definitely been around for hundreds of years, keeping the crypt and its contents safe from crafty looters and adventurers that somehow stumble through the hidden entrance unwelcome, he can be somewhat immature- often enjoying toying with those that stumble in, including even the most staunch followers of the cult that worships him and the crypt as a holy place. While mostly harmless, it's not unheard of for people to come away with gaping wounds or psychological damage, and sometimes people don't even return at all! No one's really taught him how to play nice, after all... Those he really takes a shine to might even find themselves stuck, unable to leave.

Once a year, something overtakes Zero and he scribbles a bunch of ancient text on the wall at random, a continuation of the past year's nonsensical scrawl. However, despite its seemingly rambling nature, cult followers from all over make a pilgrimage to the site in order to translate his scripture. They also tend to leave Zero a sacrifice or treats as thanks for another year of service. He delights in surprises, so the gift is always different.

Despite his reclusive way of living, believers of the crypt are many- in many places parents warn their children to guard their most precious secrets close to their hearts, as otherwise the Master of the Crypt will yank them out of their eyes, stashing them forever in ancient halls along with all other secrets he's been burdened with keeping...

It's just an old legend, but... what if it's true? Isn't that scary to think about?
