Personality [guarded, possessive, fussy, strong-willed, confident]

Known for his default brooding expression, Inka’s stares can be quite intense. His gun-metal coloured eyes are able to express much of his emotions when his mouth doesn’t. Eyes that used to land in him a lot of trouble when he couldn’t keep the anger out of them.

He knows the importance of surrounding himself with his peers and does just that even if he prefers spending most of his time alone. Perhaps his inital approach was more calculating than geniune but that’s not to say he has not come to care about his companions. He definitely does and enjoys snarking with his buddies but at the end of the day, still can’t help but hold them at arm’s length. A wariness that he is unable to fully shake off.

Disinterested in roundabout conversations, Inka speaks in a blunt tone and straight forward words or not at all. If one didn’t know Inka well, he could be mistaken for being quiet or arrogant when it’s simply because he doesn’t see a need to add more. Sometimes purposefully crass, he knows his own standing and doesn’t mind leaning into the perceived stereotypes to let his snark through.

Despite his intimidating exterior, Inka is surprisingly patient with others. He doesn’t mind repeating his moves or adjusting other people’s positions. It’s only when people that should know what they’re doing are dragging others down in the field where his temper begins to flare.

Resilient and headstrong, Inka isn’t afraid to point out stupidity. Even if it’s to his seniors and has no shame in playing dirty if they try to get him into trouble as revenge. He is stubborn in his beliefs but has learned over time to try to see beyond what he believes he perceives. Though, it’s still something he has trouble with.

He was someone that used to be quite the hot head. Easily provoked and brought to fists with, Inka eventually tempered out and learned to shut his mouth and attempt to work around the problems. He learned to pick his fights. But sometimes, he still can't help it.

Background

One of the most decorated soldiers in his cycle, Inka has won against terrible—intentional odds. The sheer stubbornness of his will having pulled him through the thought-to-be impossible. A grudging respect has been given to him, allowing much of his snark to pass with many frowns. But even then, his lowly origins don’t allow him to hold a stable position. Yeah, sure, perhaps his superiors listen to his opinions a bit more, but he will always be considered expendable. Always the first to be put in a risky position. While those from the upper class continue to breeze through their promotions without much risk.

Inka does more undercover missions, working with a specialized team in order to take out specific targets/groups. While he does participate in warfare, just not to the extent Ten does.

He is from the lower class, recruited from the slums when he was 12. He was mouthy but he proved his worth. It wasn’t like he had much to lose—was much more concerned with having food in his stomach.

Hot-headed and rarely one to stand down, Inka got involved in a lot of fights. Inka was and still isn’t a model of righteousness, but he has a line and he abides by it. Though he was never quite friendly, he was never one to pick on others. Soon, others began to stand with him and he slowly found himself among trusted companions.

The fights earned him many punishments, but it also put him in the eye of some of the higher ups. There were some intrigued and some disdainful. Either way, his talents did not go by unnoticed and through many trials and missions, Inka was eventually allowed to lead his own team.

He was one of the first recipients to be experimented with to activate the “fighting state.” The drugs he has to take make him very strong but also cause him to be very aggressive and hard to control due to the over stimulation of his senses.

And so he was paired with Ten. As an experiment for a measure of control.

Initially extremely wary and disdainful of Ten due to Ten’s upper class standing until his expectations were defied. Inka slowly warmed up to Ten and began to admire his resilience and strength.

Other

Abilities

Awakened [Rank 7]

- increased strength and speed
- resilience towards sickness
- enhanced healing

Electromagnetic Abilites

- can produce/control electricity
- can manipulate technology to a certain degree
- can manipulate metal (lesser)

Ability Magnification

- can heighten his abilities with pain; the drugs allow him to feel pain more potently but also makes him more agitated. Ten can dampen Inka’s “distracting” emotions/sensations while heightening his pain levels.

Ten

- paired for a experiment to better control Inka's fighting state; Inka is contractually bound to Ten but most of the contract seal has been nullified already
- found himself drawn to Ten's resilience and frustrated by his compliance

Other

- harness contains a seal that binds him to the army in battle, and specifically Ten; but Ten has already released a majority of the seal
- gets frequent nightmares that Ten unconsciously & willfully takes away from him

World/Misc.

- Futuristic dystopian setting
- Abilities graded by ranks 1-10 (highest 10)
- Higher the number, generally higher the physical enhancements but those with physical enhancement abilities can be on par to those above them
- Military is split into 2 classes; Lower Class & Upper Class; live in different areas
- Inka & Ten worked in diff areas, Ten was with the more “privileged soldiers,” initially thought of the more “safe missions” whereas the upper class soldiers would just join last minute and clean up, bearing no losses while the lower ranked soldiers (Inka) would have done the initial grunt work
- They sometimes paired lower and upper ranked soldiers together (most of the time it was for the lower soldier to be fodder for the upper ranked) as a “program”

The Upper Class

- those born from middle-upper class (another divide within the ranks) or high ranking officers
- while there are those who are genuine, there are a lot of the “show-boat” people, there only for the prestige/rank of being in the army
- can pay money to enter
- skills vary a lot (which the higher-ups knows and assign accordingly) and even then, they issues low risk missions to them because “more valued”
- a lot of them get assigned to clean up missions to “finish off” missions where the initial grunt work were done those by the lower ranks

The Lower Class

- orphans, lower class
- requirements are much higher, more intensive testing/vetting process
- in a way they are much valued, but their success is rarely rewarded
- used for more risky missions
