Created by an evil scientist for various nefarious purposes, Mayday is outfitted with all the latest technology needed for intercepting and translating broadcasts from any source. At first, Mayday happily sent everything they received back to their creator. However, they soon realized this information could turn a decent profit, so they rewrote their programming to avoid all the evil failsafes made to keep this exact situation from happening and ventured off into space to do their own thing. Now, Mayday is subcontracted by various dealers of information who pay handsomely to get whatever data Mayday has collected, which can range from rescue signals to coded communications to music stations.

It won't be cheap, but it will be worth it.
