Luther

a quiet cat that likes to keep to itself.

suffering from severe kyphosis, polydactyly, osteoporosis, and retinal atrophy leading to blindness, luther's life is not an enjoyable one. many of its problems are due to birth defects and abuse of a prior owner.

the bones in its paws are extremely elongated, now resembling human fingers. it finds walking difficult - combine this with its severe spine curve and weak bones, it does not move unless absolutely necessary. it prefers to be seen laying down, as its spine is basically a C shape by default. its new owner has provided a very comfortable bed but like most cats it usually sleeps in a box.

it scratches at its eyes and slams its head into the ground on occasion, possibly because of tumors in its brain causing discomfort or possibly because of its deteriorating eyesight bothering it; their eyes tend to bleed and ooze as a result, with reinfection common.

luther is on several medications to treat their chronic state but claire does not have hope it will live very long. in the meantime all she can hope to do is make it feel at home in the time it has left.
