In the city of Absalom like any city there exists people who dwell in the business of necessary evils and Mephisto is one such person. His name 'Mephisto' is no more than a code name the man branded himself with. Even those who closely associate with him have never came to learn the real one out of fear that perhaps its a secret better kept unknown. As a Nephilim himself, Mephisto often jokes that his bloodline mustve been born from a Magadaz given his lust for coin and gambling and he feels no shame for his devilish traits whatsoever. Mephisto and his friends run a simple loan shark business and aren't inherantly evil as long as you pay your bills on time. They care not about credit or whomever is placing the loan or even whatever you may be spending it on, illegal or otherwise; All they care about is getting back what is owed in a timely and agreed upon manner.

Mephisto is a cleric to the suprise of most though his god is none of piety or good will but rather the demon lord responsible for the treasuries of Hell named Mammon. As a cleric beholden to the tennants of an evil but lawful entity, Mephisto keeps good tabs on those who owe him and always does his buisness with paper contracts to bind them. Should his constituants remain loyal and consistant in their payments there arises no trouble, which is to the benefit of both Mephisto and the borrower, but should they be late... Mephisto has little patience.

In his years in the business Mephisto has ran into many borrowers who either did not intend to pay him back nor had a penny left to their name to pay him back with and both of these roads led to the same bloody conclusion. Typically this duty is handled by hired muscle but in some situations where the client is a bit tougher than expect Mephisto has been known to get personally involved.

Recently a girl named 'Ophius' had failed to live up to her end of the contract and per usual Mephisto send a guy, though after not hearing back from him for a couple of days he went to personally investigate only to find out his hired hand had been murdered by the girl. Suprised by this client he looked deeper into her file to realize this girl had inherited her mothers contract after she was bumped off for not paying it either. Now thoroughly intrigued by this girl, Mephisto visited her home personally to guage what he was dealing with. Upon seeing her, Mephisto recognized a fellow Nephilim and was smitten by her indignation towards him. To lighten the mood Mephisto jokes that now they were 'even' as she got to kill one of his men in return for her mother but of course he still wanted what he was due unless she wanted to be indebted even more of course.

After leaving a month or so passed and still her payment had not arrived and when he arrived at her home he found it to be evicted with evidence she had jumped ship. While normally Mephisto would never bother personally chasing after a client to this extent he felt personally enthralled to follow this beautiful woman though more importantly he was going to get what he was owed whether she liked it or not.
