cthulu is a very paranoid and avoidant seafarer with mutated eyes and mouths on his body. he lives in the red sea, which is known for deteriorating the mind. cthulu once was very social and enjoyed interacting with others, but after being driven into isolation he quickly lost mental and physical stability and now practically hisses at anyone who gets too close. he's very lonely though and stalks ships and people watches instead of actually approaching anyone. he rarely ever leaves the red sea or goes to the surface or even close to it. he collects artifacts from shipwrecks and has a thing for octopi and eldrich paraphernalia.

     ► cthulu is the older adoptive brother of kraken.
     ► he was meant to be the ruler of irkalla, but his brother framed and maimed him for the position.
     ► used to have a close bond with his sibling kraken and had little desire to rule anything, but kraken wanted power.
     ► cthulu would've given his job to kraken if he could, but he knew kraken was too unstable and megalomaniacal for the job.
     ► he' already took into the account the state of the red sea and he wanted to try to stabilize the city.
     ► he often misses his brother greatly- he had a really close bond with him before.
     ► isolation and being betrayed has caused cthulus mental state to deteriorate- he doesn't let anyone get close to him anymore.
     ► he usually wards people away from himself using his illusion ability or using his tentacles to hack at people.
     ► he has mutated eyes and mouths on his tentacles- they function fully.
     ► he has tentacle hair.
     ► his hair and tentacles are prehensile and he can control what they grab and how they move.
     ► he has smaller tentacles growing on his arms, which poke out through his sleeves.

     ► he tries to ward people off from entering the red sea- slightly because he's territorial and partially because he knows what it does to people.
     ► he loves to collect weird oddities and wet specimen jars- the cave he lives in is filled with creepy tentacle / octopi paraphernalia.
     ► the caverns he lives in are lit by bioluminescent undersea plants- they're pale yellow and give a similar glow.
     ► his tentacle mouths tend to bite things.
     ► he has a large mouth on his stomach but it's covered by his clothing.
     ► he hates feeling hungry and will do pretty much anything to sate his hunger.

     ► he usually stalks / observes ships that enter the area, as he's very curious about them.
     ► he has two rows of very sharp teeth.
     ► he'll usually just avoid confrontation but if pressured or forced into interaction he can become hostile.
     ► he's very paranoid over the idea of being backstabbed again and he doesn't trust easily.
     ► his tentacles are /very/ strong and able to break or damage most things he uses them on.
     ► he particularly enjoys cramped/tight spaces and doesn't like being out in the wide open.

     ► he has lots of scars on his body from his fight with Kraken. he didn't want to hurt him so he didn't fight back much.
     ► he usually looks displeased or uncomfortable- it's rare to catch him in a good mood.

     ► he speaks a very old dead language- he doesn't know anyone else who can understand it aside from kraken.
