The Fuku family is a known clan in the world of sorcerers, though, of course. Not as well known as the main three clans. They used to be a clan full of sorcerers until it diminished once stronger and stronger leveled curses started to appear and due to fear for their bloodline, they have started to cease and reject their sorcerer ways.
Wanting to preserve and protect their heritage instead of helping eradicate curses, the other clans had begun to resent them.
As whenever they would reach out for aid in battles, the Fuku clan would simply not back down and take their word back. Resulting in a large dispute between the other clans and their very own.
Surprisingly, some members of the clan had wanted to continue their sorcerer ancestry, having believed they were truly helping the sorcerer world be rid of the dreaded curses.
Due to the rather selfish decision made by the majority of the Fuku clan, they decided to split the clan.
And for generations to come, their name has been tossed around with such hatred and slander from sorcerers, that the remainder of the clan who went against their ancestor's wishes, had started to regret their decision of fighting for the opposing side.
Which then resulted in the next generations of the Fuku clan members to dissipate slowly until it was such a rarity that a child would be born with cursed energy.
And that brings us to Aratani, who came from a branch side of the family, one where jujutsu was never even heard of because of generations of it being dismissed and excluded by the household. The girl being born with curse energy caused a huge turmoil among her clan as some still accepted being sorcerers, some did not, and her tiny family had no idea what they brought into the world as everyone tried to decide what to do with her.
It was split between giving her to the sorcerer side of the family or never telling her about it, in the end, it was for her to decide what her future would be.
It only took a couple of years till they had an answer as two-year-old Aratani started seeing curses her household couldn't, they didn't waste time explaining to her about sorcerers and her choosing to want to help people who needed it.
Her childhood would be divided into honing her technique while still playing around with her siblings since the clan was still torn about the subject of sorcerers and unfortunately, her family didn't want their daughter being set up to die in their mind.
When in reality, Aratani had the potential to be one of the strongest in their clan since the time curses still had a king.
Time would pass by for her before she was old enough to go to the infamous Jujutsu school in Tokyo, where her motivations, mental state, and self-esteem would be tested.
Being a first-year with fellow powerful students led her to seek their friendship, it was easy most of the time to live and learn with people her age. The years at this school where she had many fond memories of, but sadly it also had some painful ones.
Aratani, having her last name be a controversial topic amongst the higher-ups due to them thinking her clan abandoned/betrayed them in the last generations, always felt like she was someone who didn't deserve being there because of her family history.
Of course, her classmates and schoolmates treated her the same way they always had but their first interactions would constantly play in her head, where they would crunch their face in mild disgust at her. She didn't mind it since it wasn't her fault she would be discriminated against as it was the past members of her family that caused her hardships, still, their view on her will always link back to how the past generations of her family were called cowards for running away.
Their opinion of her at first would be one of the reasons she would thrive to be one of the strongest there is, to prove them wrong. But that motivation would dwindle as she meets someone who saw her differently, someone who would become the strongest sorcerer, someone who treated her the same as everyone else. Even if he put her down, he put down others as well.
Becoming the friend she never had despite their odd relationship at first, with him being a Third-year student and her being the second First-year there was. Having the young Aratani become almost infatuated with the sorcerer, not minding his quirks and annoying nature as he didn't mind hers. That person became her inspiration to rise above others, her drive to be someone that would make the higher-ups eat their words as they would change their views on her family.
And most importantly. herself.

After graduating, Aratani focused more on pursuing success for a couple years. Learning that, despite proving herself to be a formidable sorcerer, the elders still saw her as less and would refuse to send her on missions. With a ton of excuses that peeved both her and Satoru, the man continued to stay by her side through the years.
Both growing to be fine sorcerers, with him becoming the more known one due to his strength and her still being mentioned as some sort of folk tale. Though, with some outbursts and string pulling, Aratani became a First-grade sorcerer.
With the higher rank, however, she would be assigned more harsher missions. On some occasions she'd travel outside Japan for a mission, finding this out to be a ploy to possibly get rid of her.
But with determination and spite, she'd always pull through in the end and return back to Japan to complete her goals.
A new opportunity would open when Satoru proposed being teachers to lead the next generation of sorcerers with a new perspective on things, as well as being free from the corruptions of the elders.
At the suggestion, Aratani would simply follow along as a new chapter would indeed seem interesting. The following years soon filled with new memories and people as well.
