What's life without a little glamour?

exterior
Species

Unlike their old clanmates or fellow Royal Bloods, Queen isn't a domestic cat- instead, they're a caracal.
Fur Colour

Queen's pelt is a rich, rusty red with lighter accents along their muzzle, below their eyes, and running from their chest to their stomach. They have two, arrow-like black markings on their eyebrows, as is typical for their species.
Body Shape

Being a caracal, Queen towers over even the tallest domestic cat. They're well-built and muscular, although a little on the thicker side- betraying their preference for leisure rather than work.
Eyes

Queen's eyes are a stunning, pure golden color, which was where their old clan name of "Goldenglance" originated from.
Notable Features

If the fact they were a caracal among domestic cats wasn't enough to distinguish them, Queen has a few other notable features- most obvious are the two extra toes adorning each front paw, and a black spot just below their left eye.
innards

charismatic . composed . perceptive

Queen possesses a silver tongue that is hard to ignore- they're able to charm themselves into the good graces of just about anyone, and they're a natural conversationalist. There is little that they allow to bother them, and their relaxed nature means most everything rolls off their pelt like rain- the only exception being mistreatment of Sparkwhisker, or the two's isolation within Streamclan so many moons ago.

Despite their flippance and nonchalantness, Queen is actually quite perceptive to the emotions and opinions of those around them. They always seem to know what others want to hear, and will often approach those below them and reassure them as a way to endear themselves.

flirtatious . enigmatic . noncommittal

Little is known about Queen (or their ceaseless companion, Sparkwhisker) amongst the Royal Bloods, and they've done little to rectify that. In fact, they prefer to keep it that way, and all who are questioned about their origins are given wildly different answers. They have a tendency to sweet-talk just about everyone, especially Sparkwhisker, and when pressed, will never clarify the intent behind it. This has led to some confusion amongst the Royal Bloods as to whether Queen and Sparkwhisker are a couple, and any bold enough to ask outright will only receive a wink and some more honeyed, yet meaningless words.

Queen's loyalty is hard to earn, and thus, the only one to have earned it is Sparkwhisker, their dear best friend of many moons. Their interest in the Royal Bloods only goes as far as him- should he decide to up and leave one day, they'd be right at his side as he did.

calculating . manipulative . leisurely

While Queen may act fanciful and self-absorbed- the truth is that they're far smarter than they let on. A close eye is always kept on the thoughts and motivations of others, looking for anything they may be able to exploit at a later date. Truthfully, they're no danger to anyone- but they've learned that a silver tongue and all the right words can give them an advantage later on.

Much to the annoyance of some and the relief of others, Queen is very lax in their role as Consigliere- they allow those below them almost free reign, and are only very loosely involved in the running of the Royal Bloods. The only thing they don't tolerate, however, are any attempts to remove the Queen Bee from their throne.

the lore

The Beginning. . .

They and the rest of their littermates were discovered as young, abandoned kittens in Streamclan's territory by Blackthorn, Shrewbite, and Stagheart, and were swiftly brought to camp to be cared for. As time passed, it became apparent that these were no normal kittens- their markings were strange, their height was shocking, and their language was familiar, but at times, indecipherable. As the litter grew, they slowly learned how to communicate with those around them, and began to feel at home within their clan.

After allowing time for the kittens to become accustomed to their new life as clan cats, the litter were granted names and apprenticeship. They earned the name Goldenpaw due to their strikingly colored eyes, and were assigned Sleetstrike as a mentor. Their apprenticeship was laid back- Sleetstrike seemed far too busy to actually mentor them, so they spent most of their days in regards to their own whims. Eventually, they came into the companionship of Sparkwhisker- a fellow outlier in Streamclan who seemed to share their penchant for mischief and breaking up the boring monotony of daily life. They spent moons playing pranks and doing whatever they liked- until they were called before Silverheart and earned their warrior name alongside their sister.

Goldenpaw was given the name Goldenglance, another nod to their striking eyes, and that was about all the excitement that would be had for a while. Little seemed to happen for moons, and they and Sparkwhisker grew increasingly frustrated with how boring Streamclan seemed to be, and how little they both fit in. During this time, they began to notice Sparkwhisker disappearing in the middle of the night, and returning a few hours later.

Eventually, the tom confessed why- he'd become part of a mixed group of outsiders and clan cats who, lead by Paradise, had become dissatisfied with clan life. He invited them to attend one of their meetings, and while they had little interest in inciting violence amongst the clans under Cherrysnap's guidance, they chose to support their best friend and his dedication to the group. When Sparkwhisker made the decision to finally leave Streamclan to fully assist the group, Goldenglance joined him.

It didn't take long for things to fall apart. What started as leaving prey strewn around the territories became the murder of Oakstar's daughter, which pushed him to declare war on the other clans- and then, Cherrysnap revealed they'd killed Gartermist, a Streamclan elder, to incite war between Streamclan and Stoneclan. Sparkwhisker, who'd been close to Gartermist and considered the tom his grandfather, promptly left the group, and Goldenglance followed, having had no real allegiance to them to begin with. The two wandered aimlessly for many moons, skirting around the clans and the outsiders in the mountains, before leaving the territories all together, hoping for something more beyond the mountains.

The Middle. . .

It wasn't long after their journey to the original clan territories that they first noticed the comings-and-goings of the Royal Bloods, and, curious, began to observe them from afar. This continued for some moons, until Sparkwhisker expressed interest in joining them. While apathetic to these kittypets and loners initially, with Sparkwhisker's and their induction, they quickly noticed Peacock's interest in them, and began to take advantage of it. Clearly, the tom hadn't yet realized their interest in mollies exclusively, although Queen was certainly not about to correct him. Despite contributing very little, a sly tongue and some feigned interest had Queen and Spark both promoted to Consiglieres as soon as the positions were available, and Queen quickly took advantage of the perks of the job. Everything was going fine- that was, until the clans seemed to follow them home.

The End. . .

There's still much more to Queen's tale.

Design Notes

  • They have a mole or black spot beneath their left eye.
  • They're polydactyl, and have two extra toes on each front paw.
  • They have black stripes at the ends of their eyes that look like winged eyeliner.
Trivia

  • They were two moons old when created and played.
  • I was originally planning on their warrior name being Goldeneyes or Goldeneye.
  • Despite being born and raised in Streamclan, they hate swimming because caracal are native to very dry, arid regions of Africa, and I figure they'd be instinctually unhappy about having a wet coat.
