Stoneclan has seen many moons of violence. I will do my best to ensure we will not see more.

exterior
Breed

While Ewestar is entirely randombred, their parents carry traits reminiscent of Laperms and Orientals that have been passed down to them in turn.
Fur Colour

Ewestar is a fawn tortoiseshell with a little less than half white.
Body Shape

Ewestar stands around average height for a domestic cat, and although they're muscular, it's lean muscle- easily unnoticed by others thanks to their curly coat.
Eyes

Ewestar inherited their dam, Lichenpelt's, pale green eyes, and their sire, Saxifragewhisker's, more rounded eye shape.
Scars

Ewestar bears only a single scar- a healed cut along their throat delivered by Candlelight in his attempt to murder them.
innards

composed . intelligent . patient

Ewestar is rational and logic-driven- that's not to say that they decry emotion at the behest of logic, but they are always considering the short- and long-term consequences of their decisions and actions. They understand that their decisions don't exist in a vaccuum- there are intended and unintended responses, and they're always seeking to ensure the unintended can be addressed. Along that line, they project a calm demeanor in an attempt to ensure their clan's trust in them- while there very well are things that sadden or infuriate them, very few will ever see it.

Above all else, Ewestar is patient, particularly with the younger members of Stoneclan. They understand that many in their clan have lost friends and loved ones- and at least for one generation, many lost their family and homes. Although they don't tolerate violence or harassment of any form, they understand that the feelings that drive one to attack another, either physically or verbally, may come from traumatic events in their life. They encourage healing and recovery over punishment and ostracism when possible.

articulate . diplomatic . independent

Ewestar's speech can come across a bit showy at times, but they're quite verbose and deliberate when they speak, so as to avoid confusion. They understand the value of words over claws, and prefer to come to a solution through discussion before risking their own life, or the lives of their clanmates. They are not a pacifist by any means- they have taken a life to save the lives of others and would do so again if the situation called for, but bloodshed is certainly considered a last resort.

They're quite independent, able to effectively run the clan on their own if need required- and it has before. For many moons as a deputy under Marblestar, they performed tasks for both leader and deputy while their leader spent time with his family. While they're grateful for the help Frostpelt provides, they also refuse to become reliant on her like Marblestar did them.

calculating . forgiving . toiling

With their preference for encouraging recovery over distributing punishment, Ewestar can be quite lenient and forgiving- although they will not tolerate repeat offenses, they err on the side of giving others another chance to prove themselves, even when they probably shouldn't. They as well have a tendency to overwork themselves for the benefit of their family and clan. This was the case during Marblestar's kit exchange, the poisoning of Stoneclan, and the war that soon followed.

During those fraught several moons, Ewestar would deprive themselves of sleep trying to ensure the health and well-being of their clanmates- organizing hunting and border patrols, and investigations of evidence to find the culprits of the poisoning. Even now, they carry that same mentality with them- that they are responsible for Stoneclan, and if they must sacrifice their own well-being for that of their clan, they gladly would.

the lore

The Beginning. . .

Born to Saxifragewhisker and Lichenpelt of Stoneclan, Ewekit was the only one of their litter, but that mattered little to their parents, who were over the moon with their new addition to the family. From a young age, they aspired to make a legacy for themselves within Stoneclan like their mother, Saxifragewhisker, who was known as one of the fiercest Stoneclanners to face in battle- but Ewekit had their sights set higher. They wanted to become Stoneclan's leader, and they spent much of their kithood practicing battle moves and hunting crouches with the help of their mothers. They swore their heart nearly burst out of their chest with excitement when they were called forth to become an apprentice. Ewekit became Ewepaw, and they were apprenticed to a warrior named Eagleheart- a tom their mothers knew as a kind, patient, and accomplished warrior, and the perfect fit for their determined, overachieving kit.

Apprenticehood was what Ewepaw had really been looking forward to- an opportunity to show what they were capable of and really utilize all of the training they'd gained from their mothers in the nursery. Apprenticed to Eagleheart, they shortly formed a strong bond with their mentor- his patient paw helped mold Ewepaw's dreams into tangible goals, and they flourished under his guidance. They excelled primarily in hunting and tracking, and although their lithe form wasn't the most complimenting in a fight, they were able to defend themselves quite well.

It was during their apprenticehood that their mothers welcomed another litter, and Ewepaw was there to welcome their little sister, Marekit, into the world. They absolutely doted on their little sister, often visiting her after returning from their training, and entertaining her with stories that had been told to them by their mothers, or making up their own to capture her interest. Shortly following the birth of Marekit, Ewepaw was called upon to undertake their warrior trial, and confidently passed. They were given the name Ewenose- a testament to their natural talent in tracking prey.

Since earning their warrior name, Ewenose has been known as an overachiever within Stoneclan, going above and beyond whenever capable with the hope of catching the eye as a deputy candidate. They were one of the warriors who first stepped up to the task of helping the clan's pregnant and elderly make the trek to Stoneclan's new territory, depriving themselves of both sleep and food to help ensure that others were well-rested and well-fed.

The Middle. . .

Their dedication to Stoneclan and work ethic caught the eye of Marblestar- who, in need of a deputy, called upon Ewenose to take up the mantle. They accepted eagerly, and settled into their responsibilities swiftly, and their diplomacy was a welcome attribute to Stoneclan's leader, who tended to err towards blunt and straightforward conversation. Although willing and able to take on any task assigned to them- handling Marblestar's proposed kit exchange was nothing if not challenging. With the tom himself siring a litter with a Pineclan tom, and now indundated with the task of raising and caring for four kittens, two of whom were sickly, Stoneclan's day-to-day operations fell to their shoulders. They quickly became the defacto leader- organizing hunting and border patrols, commencing ceremonies, and attending Gatherings.

Things seemed to go further downhill. In the midst of the litter-exchange, while many sires and dams were residing in Stoneclan's camp, tainted prey invited sickness into the clan and killed two warriors in the process. Ewenose began an investigation of the event- finding early evidence that the prey had been tampered by water hemlock. After questioning Crescentshade and Candlelight, the former of the two having been involved in a tip Ewenose received, they were attacked at the Mossclan-Stoneclan border after heading out alone in an attempt to find more evidence. In the struggle, they were nearly killed and permanently scarred, and Candlelight was knocked into the gorge and killed. Crescentshade was taken into custody, and his fate voted on by the other clan leaders and Ewenose themselves- exile.

Things didn't get any better. Only a few moons later, Oakstar declares war on Mossclan, Streamclan, and Stoneclan alike, and warns all that none will be safe. While Stoneclan was able to avoid the worst of the war, distanced from Pineclan through Mossclan and Streamclan's territories, a routine border patrol on the Stoneclan and Streamclan border ends with Marblestar killed after the Streamclan patrol accused the Stoneclanners of having murdered a Streamclan elder moons prior. Ewenose is granted nine lives, and given the name Ewestar, and shortly elects Frostpetal as their deputy. When a retalitory Stoneclan patrol ambushes a passing Streamclan patrol, ending with two lives lost on each side, Ewestar confined the two surviving Stoneclanners, Ruemask and their own apprentice Ridgepaw, to camp for a moon, and ordered them to collect herbs to replenish what was lost for both Stoneclan and Streamclan, although they warn Silverstar that they will not be providing any further aid to Streamclan should violence break out once more.

Then, with a bit of poisoned prey, Oakstar was killed, and the war was over- and yet, things still refused to improve. The clans began to starve, with Stoneclan losing a naught insignificant number of cats. It is then that the clans are advised by Starclan, told that these lands cannot contain them anymore, and they must pick up and head back to their old territories once more. During the journey, and due to Saxifragewhisker's severe arthritis, the decision is made that Saxifragewhisker and Lichenpelt will live out the remainder of their days with the outsiders in the mountains. After a teary goodbye, Ewestar pressed on, and lead their clan to their new home at the base of the mountain range.

The End. . .

There is still more to Ewestar's story.
