Poppy is an intellegent goat, but not necessarily wise. She frequently gets herself stuck in situations that a person who had a bit more forethought wouldn't get stuck in, but she tries to play her perdicaments off as going according to plan. She tends to fly by the seat of her pants, with her thoughts and words moving faster than she can keep up with, which can land her in hot water. She is very stubborn and prone to holding a grudge, a trait that most in her family share. Despite a drive to be part of a 'herd', the times Poppy feels most at ease are when she is alone, either working in her lab or hiking throgh nature admiring the world around her. Either way, both situations keep her from having to talk to other people, and therefore keep her from accidentally annoying or offending someone. She still enjoys spending time with her companions, but usually in smaller groups. She treats them to homebrewed beer and mead, one of her hobbies outside of her work, and they like to watch dumb videos and play card games.
