Ansel

BACKGROUND

Ansel grew up a naive, foolish fae, often pulling pranks on humans. He was warned of how dangerous humans could be, but didn't listen, sneaking off from his own realm to interact with them. He made friends with a few, and caught the eye of the ruler of a certain kingdom. Being young, and not knowing any better, he was tricked into giving his name to the ruler, and thus gave the ruler power over him. He was commanded to belong to the kingdom, and for as long as the ruler lived, he would serve the kingdom and was bound to the human world. Ansel was scared and didn't know what was going on, and had to listen to the orders he was given no matter what, or face punishment. He was broken before long, finding that it was easier to just obey and do as he was told than resist. His personality changed, becoming rather somber and quiet compared to the excitable, playful fairy he used to be. Internally, he's bitter, and misses his old life, but he's unsure if he would even be welcomed back into the fae realm now that he's spent so much time with humans. Instead, he just does what he can to be obedient, unsure if he will ever be able to return to how life used to be.
