Basics
Taiyo is a force to be reckoned with. She's headstrong and set in her ways, often butting heads with other people- sometimes even on purpose just to see their reaction. She's a troll at heart, and loves to mess with Chili specifically as "his reactions are the funniest."
Although she's Agent 4 and takes the job rather seriously as heart, she still doesn't miss a beat to make lighthearted or even grim jokes about it with the rest of her peers.
Taiyo is unapologetically gay, and others call her the agent of mischief, even though deep down maybe she cares about others a little too much.

About
Taiyo is a simple inkling. Her family ran a small garage since she was little, and she naturally took a liking and affinity for vehicles after her father, often helping out in the shop and learning new things after school since she was just a kid. He was a good man who offered kindness to many people in need, even if it was a larger expense to the shop in the end.
Her family life wasn't always the best though, and they often got into quarrels, especially after her brother hatched who was a lot more of a pushover at school than her. Unfortunately due to the slightly dysfunctional family, and her submissive mother who couldn't stand up for herself, their business fell through when she was around 10 due to overdue loans and taxes. Heartbroken, she vowed to reopen it once she could again.
Since then Taiyo has worked herself to the bone, to not only excel at school and community college, but also to become strong and dominant, to prove herself as someone who won't take any shit unlike her mother. She wanted to show she's strong enough to lead the business on her own- despite everyone's protests. Her brother liked and admired her for it, and although he didn't have a knack for repairs like she, he was more than happy to help in the bookkeeping department. She took him up on that offer.
Once she turned 19 she was scrambling for funds to gather together to finally buy a lot she's been eyeing in Inkopolis for the longest of times. However, just as she gathered the funds the lot sold out to someone else. Disheartened, she dropped her head and went about her days until she was found by Marie and quickly recruited as Agent 4 as an apparent replacement.
There she was trained by Agent 3 (Chili) who she immediately took the piss out of. They had their quarrels, and fights, and she may have initially taken the job a little too lightly, until they both fought with fists and feet during a mission, eventually found for octarians and captured. It was a more bonding moment than something truly terrible, and only then did Taiyo realise just how serious the situation was. She then understood why Agent 3 wanted to step down, and she found herself in his shoes instead, and quite enjoying the new challenge.
By the end of the grind and a defeated Octavio, Marie rewarded her with something she didn't think she'd see the light of day- a freshly bought lot in Inkopolis. Perfect for her own garage. She couldn't contain her happiness, and she immediately brought the news to her brother and family.
Since then she's been working very hard, and ensuring her business wouldn't go down the same route as her family's. While she still retains the kindness of her father towards her customers, she also isn't afraid to cuss someone out and ban them from the premises on sight. That may make her a couple of enemies here and there, but her customers generally regard her with utmost respect for the fantastic work she does while continuing to humble herself and not take shit from any assholes trying to strike unreasonable deals.

Chili [ Friend ]
She may act like she hates his guts, but she has to admit; he was a pretty good teacher. That and being someone she can spar and bicker with on any occasion is fun. Plus, teasing his is the most hilarious activity to exist. Even if they act like enemies towards each other, they would jump into the fire to save the other if it ever came to it.
Mint [ Friend ]
She loves that silly little octoling. They're like a sibling to her, in a good way. They're both pure extroverts and love hanging out for 'girl nights' to go shopping, eat and sleepover. Taiyo was the primary force that introduced Mint to all things feminine, and they love her for it.
Yuuto [ Friend ]
The first time they met it was during a turf war match, where Yuuto had fallen and hurt himself, only to be almost choked by his team member when they kicked him off the team. He ran off from the scene in tears, abandoning his precious enperry duelies behind. She wanted to give them back to him, but haven't found him again. That is until they one day found themselves staring eye to eye again, in her garage shop at it with his motorcycle in her hands. The joy on the boy's face when she handed his duelies back she kept for months was unrivaled. And they have since kept in touch visiting each other's workplaces every so often. He does make pretty good cakes, afterall.
