ABOUT
General:
After the fall of the End and the destruction of all portals to other worlds, Sam's mother completed a device that could create temporary portals. With the device, Sam is able to escape the End and come to the Overworld. However, his mother suffered from a chronic illness (which cannot be treated any more since society basically collapsed) and does not go with him. She died not long after he left.
After the death of his parents, he was raised by a human redstone engineer and his merfolk wife. His adoptive brother Erin initially resented him, though they eventually grow close.
Abilities and other:
The amount of particles surrounding him increase when he is happy or upset. He has significantly less particles when he is tired. Teleporting too often in a short amount of time can cause this.
Sam can sense and dodge projectiles like other endermen. He does this more instinctually than on purpose.
The aggro growl endermen make causes anxiety and a feeling of paranoia in humans and many mobs. The intensity of these effects change with the volume. When Sam is very upset, he will start making this sound. He can't really stop himself from making it, but he can try to keep it from being loud enough to affect other people.
The little fangs aren't his actual teeth. His teeth are retractible and he only uses them when he eats. He can also open his mouth unsettlingly far like endermen do, he just doesn't because its freaky.
Endermen adapt to the climate they are in if they are there for a long amount of time. Endermen babies are born fluffy and get a short, velvety coat when they are older. Sam kept his fluffier fur since he has lived in a cold climate for most of his life.
The endereye ornament on his cloak is one of several that were gifted to a group of endermen long ago. They are considered important objects that are worn by memebers of The Council. They are enchanted and supposedly "shield the wearer from death". The endermen are aware the ornaments don't actually prevent death, but they are still respected relics. Sam doesn't know the significance of the endereye ornament and only knows that it had originally belonged to his father.
PERSONALITY
Sam is a generally sweet and patient person. He was very timid as a child but this has improved some as he has gotten older.
He is not angered easily. However, when Sam does get angry, he is more the type to get quiet and try to bottle it up. The growling sound endermen make when they are upset usually gives him away. When pointed out, he will insist it's fine and try to avoid confrontation.
When he is sad, he is usually pretty open about it. Unlike Erin, he is not embarassed by crying in front of people. During an emotional slump, he will pour himself into creative projects. Sewing is his go-to. If he is sad for a long period of time, he will sometimes stop eating.

RELATIONS
Erin is Sam's adoptive older brother.
Charlie is Sam's adoptive father. He has been missing for the past few months.
Leila is Sam's adoptive mother. She is a merling that can take on a humanoid form when out of the water. She went looking for Charlie and still hasn't returned
Good friend of Sam and Erin. She stays with them after her home was destroyed by a group of griefers.
Zenith has been friends with Sam and Erin since they were kids. He lives in a nearby village that Sam and his brother often visit. Zenith is a potion maker who often supplies them both with potions.
Ryker is the leader of a group working under a larger clan of griefers. He has stolen from Sam, Erin, and their friends, as well as razed some villages not too far away. He has tried to kill them on multiple occasions.
MISC
TRIVIA
- A villager taught Sam how to sew when he was young. He continues to use that skill to repair his cloak and other things. He finds it relaxing.
- Sam hates silverfish, so much. He is genuinely terrified of them.
- He is very skilled with a sword.
- The endereye ornament on his cloak originally belonged to his birth father. Sam knows this, but he doesn't remember much else about him.
- He does remember his mother however. They were very close, and he misses her dearly.
- The pupil of his endereye ornament moves on its own, but it doesn't do it when people are looking.
- Sam is short for an enderman.
