- Short biography of Riko's childhood and how she grew up -

When she was first born, she was very premature and had to be held in the hospital for a while before she could go home with her parents. She's always had a rather weak immune system, causing her to be a rather frail child who fell ill quite often. Due to such circumstances, she ended up in and out of hospitals pretty regularly as well. She was never able to attend normal schools and was always homeschooled. When she was still a toddler, her parents moved to the United States, where her mother originated from, in an attempt to find someone to help "cure" their child of her weak immune system and all of her ailments. During that time, she was still homeschooled and got to learn about things she never thought about when living in Japan, although she was still very much a child.

After she turned 9, her family returned to her father's native country, Japan, and returned to stay permanently. She continued her homeschooling education up until she was 13, which she was then introduced into the public school system and went to your average school like every other child. She still suffered minor health issues and had a rather low stamina, so it wasn't often that she could participate in athletic activities and was excused from having to attend P.E./gym classes and was able to spend that class period in the library on her own due to her health issues. She secretly hated being treated differently than the other children due to her frail body, but knew it was the best for her and her health.

Additional info/trivia on Riko

She's fluent in reading, speaking, and writing both English and modern-day Japanese due to having grown up in both Japan and the U.S.

She wears her silk gloves as a way of taking cautious steps to avoid getting ill to prevent physically touching things with her bare hands, trying to minimize the amount of germs and bacteria she comes into contact with.

She sometimes polishes her tea set and refuses to let anyone else handle it, fearing someone shattering it, either by accident or on purpose.
