Bearkit was born to his parents Sweetmist and Raggedbird, who were full blooded members of ThunderClan. He also had a sister named Hazelkit. However, not very long after his birth his father had contracted an unknown sickness. It was a scare to the Clan with his sudden aggressiveness and loss of appetite, but even more of a surprise when he turned on his own kits. He had tore into Hazelkit and when Sweetmist tried to stop him, he lunged around to bite her. A senior warrior under the name of Stufflednose interrupted to put Raggedbird out of his misery and kill him. What they didn't know is that Sweetmist had also contracted said sickness, and in the midst of it lashed out at Bearkit and struck him across the face. Shortly after, Stufflednose also had to end her life next to her close friend named Sparknose, hoping it could bring a form of peace to her. Bearkit was too young to remember any of this, and was rasied during the rest of his kithood by Sparknose, with Stufflednose pitching in to help. When he was big enough, Sparknose gave him orange berries to tuck into his ear saying it was from his mother. He never understood why his Clanmates shot him pitiful looks from time to time, but it never affected how happy and optimistic he was.

Bearpaw was made an apprentice at six moons old with Stufflednose appointed to him as a mentor. ShadowClan was staying with them temporarily due to a flood that had happened in their territory, and he met a few of them, thinking they were nice. There was also a RiverClan warrior under the name of Sugardaze, who had been swept away by the flood and ended up in ThunderClan for the time being. Bearpaw was curious of the new warriors that had joined them. During his apprenticehood, Bearpaw often had a knack for climbing trees, much to the Clans praise but Stufflednose's dislike. One day, their leader Thornstar brought his nephew named Rockkit into the Clan, saying he came from WindClan but wished to stay. The friendly kit had started a conversation with Stufflednose and Bearpaw and they clicked instantly, asking him quesions about him and all the basic stuff. This led Bearpaw to ask Stufflednose what had happened to his parents, but he got uncomfortable and told them to go to bed. During a session of training, Bearpaw had pressed Stufflednose about his lineage, at least about his mother. The older tom simply said she was a caring cat who had a knack for being a troublemaker. Bearpaw was awoken by Stufflednose to inform him that their deputy Sleepingpolyphemus had died earlier in the night. Rockpaw was made an apprentice and Bearpaw was excited to train with him. When Bearpaw asked about his father, Stufflednose coldly said that he never liked him. Thornstar announced Hailstorm as the new deputy and they went to the Gathering, Bearpaw's first one! However, he felt down from everyone else's solemn mood. Bearpaw was beginning to grow out of his nest and Stufflednose teased him for his size, but Bearpaw had always been a bit larger than the average cat. He had a small bonding moment with Sunfern, who was Sleepingpolyphemus' adoptive son, and Rockpaw. He grew closer to the two cats. It was time for his warriors assessment and he had caught two small rabbits and a mouse, passing with ease. Thornstar named him into a warrior called Bearstep. Bearstep said he would miss being nest neighbors with Rockpaw.

Goatpaw came back from a patrol and he noticed something was off, but when he tried to let her open up she dismissed the conversation. The following morning, she was made into a warrior called Goatsong. They were put on a rainy border patrol together and due to teasing from her, he flung mud on her and started a playful chase. They went to the river to wash the mud off and he found himself growing closer to her, relieved she was back to her old self. Bearstep asked Stufflednose how he had gained the scar on his cheek, despite saying he wouldn't like the story. He told him every detail. His parents, his sister, the sickness, how he was the one to do it. Bearstep began to yowl and snap at him in disbelief, angry, but they were interrupted by Sparknose. He stormed out of camp and Sparknose found him by the river. She comforted and assured him that she cared and he wasn't alone. Before parting ways, she gave him an anklet made of vines. Bearsteps sleep schedule had suffered greatly and he was irritable to his Clanmates. It angered him more when he saw Stufflednose and Rockpaw talking. He did noticably worse on patrols and it caught the attention of Hailstorm, and especially Sparknose. Him and the blind she made it a habit to start sleeping in his nest to give him company. Bearstep confessed to Rockpaw about his growing feelings for Goatsong, and the apprentice teased him about it. Bearstep was completely oblivious that he had just friendzoned his best friend. Bearsteps mood began to lighten, and Sparknose suggested he talk to Stufflednose now. He also got a new apprentice under the name Darkpaw. During a Gathering, Bearstep had fended Icecough, a WindClan warrior, away from Sparknose because he didn't like his vibes. She assured him it was okay and left to talk to him, Goatsong taking her place next to him. Bearstep didn't realize he dozed off on her until she woke him up saying the gathering was over. Rockpaw was made into a warrior called Rockblaze. The two toms worried about Goatsong not being present for the ceremony. Hailstorm announced to the Clan that Sparknose was expecting kits. He congratulated her and they both talked to Stufflednose, resulting in the two toms being back on good terms after Bearstep apologized. Darkpaw picked up a disturbing hobby involving a rabbit skull that he named Berry, and he gave it a persona. The news of kits had brightened up the Clan. That same night Bearstep shared a nest with Rockblaze and the tom admitted he was in love with a she-cat from another Clan. One evening Darkpaw had asked Bearstep what was going on between him and Goatsong, and Stufflednose came over and yelled at the apprentice for being disrespectful after Bearstep had already shut the conversation down. Darkpaw was hurt after this and Bearstep demanded Stufflednose apologized. Sparknose had her kits and named them Robinkit, Frozenkit, and Snowkit. Auburnpaw was named Auburnpoppy, and Darkpaw told Bearstep how he felt lonely being the only apprentice in the den. At the next Gathering, Bearstep met Goatsong's friend Brindleleaf, a tom from RiverClan. As he was bringing Sparknose prey, Sunfern came to tell him Dappleshade was hurt. He led him to the warrior with a branch impaling her, surrounded by Hailstorm and Darkpaw. Darkpaw blamed himself for not being quick enough and they promised it wasn't his fault. On a patrol with Timberfrost, Stufflednose, and Darkpaw, the apprentice accidently chased and caught a squirrel over Sunningrocks and a RiverClan patrol angrily confronted them. Although they were given the squirrel, tensions were still present due to the lack of prey. Goatsong comforted him in his nest, and when she left for the gathering Rockblaze suggested they spar to blow off steam. Bearstep was grateful for the tom. Him, Rockblaze, and Sunfern started sleeping in a big pile and slept in, making Sparknose angry at them. They invited Frozenkit and Darkpaw in their sleeping pile, too. Bearstep had taken a liking to Robinkit and found her sometimes snuggled up next to him in his nest. During one of the Gatherings, he made a friend from RiverClan called Frostwing who also didn't want tension between the Clans. One of the RiverClan warriors called Owltalon told Rockblaze he was more respectable in WindClan, causing Bearstep and Sunfern to explode with rage. Tensions worsened after this Gathering. Rockblaze admitted to him and Sunfern that he was mates with Maplecreek, the medicine cat of RiverClan. Bearstep comforted him during his rant. Bearstep got Hailstorm's blessing to be Goatsong's mate. Bearstep confessed to Goatsong, and they became mates. Bearstep began to spread the news of him and Goatsong's relationship, and at the next gathering, she told Brindleleaf. He was heartbroken and she admitted they used to like each other as apprentices. Darkpaw became a warrior named Darkwhistle. The RiverClan deputy, Perchfin, came to talk to Hailstorm to tell her that they found a dead warrior washed up in the river with ThunderClan scent on him. It was Brindleleaf. Goatsong was the reason, but she hadn't murdered him. Tensions with RiverClan were at a high. Bearstep and Rockblaze went on a walk one morning and Rockblaze told him that Maplecreek was expecting his kits, and he was having nightmares. On a border patrol with Rockblaze and Sunfern, a monster had veered off of the road and Rockblaze pushed him out of the way so Bearstep didn't get hit, but Rockblaze was hit instead. He died in Sunfern's arms and told Bearstep he would die for him a thousand times over, and to tell Maplecreek he was sorry. Stufflednose and Darkwhistle heard his agonized wail and Bearstep grieved for the rest of the night. During his burial, he said Rockblaze would forever be his best friend. Bearstep's mental state worsened, especially after he had to tell Robinkit what happened. Sparknose comforted him throughout the few moons. Hailstorm tried to comfort him by saying she understood his pain, but he pushed her away. He found Maplecreek at Sunningrocks, and told her what happened to Rockblaze, finally getting closure. Robinpaw, Snowpaw, and Frozenpaw became apprentices. Goatsong began to eat a lot of prey and Sparknose investigated them suspiciously. The Clan began to pick up on on Hailstorms absence, and at the next gathering it was revealed that Maplecreek had died. Bearstep asked Frostwing about the kits, and he told him she had a singular one. Stufflednose and Timberfrost announced that Hailstorm's scent had suddenly disappeared by the thunderpath, leading them to think she was taken away. Bearstep began to look out for his Clanmates more, checking up on them, especially Servalstrike. He told him he had a good heart. At Rockblaze's grave, Sunfern told Bearstep about his adoptive mother, Sleepingpolyphemus. Bearstep confronted Frozenpaw about WindClan scent on her and was concerned about her rebellious nature, reminding him too closely of Rockblaze and Maplecreek. Darkwhistle had gotten into an argument with Thornstar about kittypets, and Bearstep scolded his former apprentice for talking backto his leader. An odd fog had begun to roll into the territories, and everyone was on edge. Sparknose had begun to get sick, and at one point Bearstep and Thornstar had to carry her back to camp due to her collapsing. On a brighter note, Frozenpaw confirmed Goatsong was having kits! Goatsong gave birth to a small, single she-kit: Pigeonkit. Hailstorm returned the following day, and the Clan was in brighter spirits. Bearstep and Darkwhistle began to get in more arguments, and he told the young tom he was the reason he had Pigeonkit. Bearstep comforted Robinkit over her mothers sickness, and the two got closer from this interaction, the apprentice seeing him as an older brother. By the next gathering, that he wasn't present for, the fog had completely rolled in and there was a shadow over the moon. No more stars. StarClan was gone. He found out that Stufflednose was injured from twoleg construction and most likely would never use his back legs again. Bearstep was angry that no one told him these things sooner, having forced it out of Sunfern. The following day, Sparknose also succumbed to her illness, and Bearstep was at an all new low. He wished he had called her mother out loud. He started avoiding Stufflednose, sure that he was just going to die too, and shielded Pigeonkit away from him and others to protect her. His kit began to explore the camp and interact with others. Frozenpaw and Snowpaw disappeared, the only thing left behind was the scent of a fox. Sunfern was sent on the patrol to Mothermouth to find why StarClan was gone. He grew less fond of RiverClan by the day, and also met a WindClan apprentice named Rabbitpaw. She reminded him of Rockblaze. Timberfrost brought a kit by the name of Finch to the Clan, and Bearstep mentioned he should take him in as his own. Since the cats at Mothermouth still weren't back, Bearstep was one of the cats sent to find them. He traveled with Burntstar, Frostwing, and Bluemonarch, and they found the missing cats. Bearstep brought Sunfern home after rescuing him and the others. Robinpaw became a warrior named Robinbreeze. Darkwhistle was attacked by a sick rabbit. Bearstep and Goatsong talked about Pigeonkit becoming a medicine cat apprentice, and they met Sunfern and Timberfrost's kit, Finchkit. Hailstorm burst into camp and yowled that Thornstar was being attacked. They rescued him, but he died on the way back. Hailstorm became Hailstar, and Bearstep was made the deputy of ThunderClan.

Darkwhistle began acting oddly and yelling at Pigeonkit, so Bearstep had been avoiding him for a bit. Pigeonkit was named Pigeonpaw, and the medicine cat apprentice. Stufflednose and Bearstep got into an argument about Darkwhistle, but Bearstep insisted he didn't want help because he kept running away from them. After his freakout during Pigeonpaw's ceremony, Bearstep confronted him outside of camp. But Darkwhistle was too far gone with his sickness, and tried killing Bearstep. After he couldn't run anymore, he had to put his past apprentice out of his misery. Stufflednose told him he had the sickness that Bearstep's parents had, and Bearstep was demoted for a moon, putting Sunfern in charge. The following Gathering was hard for Bearstep, but his friend Frostwing was right by his side the whole time, who had also became deputy. Silverdrop ran away from RiverClan and officially joined ThunderClan during this time. Squirrelpounce was found dead outside of camp, seeming to have fallen out of a tree. Owletflare became a warrior, and Bearstep hoped Darkwhistle was watching from StarClan. Bearstep found himself finally beginning to let go of his grief, and he spent the night with Sunfern, their bond growing. At the next Gathering it was announced there was an unknown sickness going around, so everyone was on edge. An older cat by the name of Wiltingflowers appeared in the territory, claiming she was the previous medicine cat, but taken away by twolegs moons ago. Bearstep began to fall ill and was confined to the medicine den due to coughing and sporadic fainting. His sickness only got worse from there, and Sunfern joined him in the medicine den with the same thing. Things began to get worrying when he couldn't move himself and coughed up blood. He and Goatsong also broke their relationship off, so Bearstep didn't have any motivation to do anything. Finchpaw became a warrior by the name Ficnhberry at this time. Timberfrost talked to Bearstep and was there for a shoulder to lean on about the break up, and he felt better after the conversation. A cure was found, and he and Sunfern gradually got better. Bearstep was so out of it during his sickness that he hadn't noticed Hailstar had her kits, Ravenkit and Spiderkit! He bonded with the two and congratulated Servalstrike on fatherhood, the two toms getting closer with sharing advice. Stufflednose and Bearstep were talking about the kits, joined by Timberfrost who said his mother had been excited when she found out she was expecting Bearstep and his sister. Stufflednose said she hadn't stopped talking his ear off about it, and Timberfrost began acting weird by saying it would have been weird if she didn't. Bearstep didn't understand until Timberfrost slowly brought up that Stufflednose had been Sweetmist's father, but he denied it, saying he would have remembered. Timberfrost and Finchberry alerted him of a rogue scent on the border, and he noted to send out a patrol the following morning. But when he was going to assign Finchberry on it per request, he wasn't in camp. He couldn't find Timberfrost either, so he looked for Sunfern, who he found stricken with worry. He offered to help him search with Wiltingflowers but as the three left camp, they saw Finchberry helping Timberfrost back to camp, who was bleeding out rapidly. Bearstep put two and two together as he raced from where the two came, surprised to see Frostwing on Sunningrocks. Their encounter was short and he only warned the RiverClan deputy of the rogue, but he assured him they would see each other again at the next Gathering. He went back to camp and reached the medicine den in time only to see Timberfrost take his last breath, surrounded by his family. The following morning Bearstep told Hailstar that he would let everyone grieve, but the borders would be thouroughly checked soon to be sure the rogue was gone. Spiderkit gave Bearstep flowers to cheer him up, and he placed them on Timberfrost's grave during the funeral. Hailstar allows a cat by the name of Salem to join the clan, who Bearstep is incredibly suspicious of due to recent circumstances. Bearstep ran into Frostwing on Sunningrocks again and they chatted for a bit, and that was when he found out Elkstar had died and Froststar was now RiverClan's leader. He told the silver tom he would always be a shoulder to lean on, and he said how he might take him up on that. He made more frequent visits to try and talk to him, but he encountered Beavertail on one of his recent run ins. They hurled insults at each other for the afternoon, until Bearstep realized how late it was and he left due to it being time for the Gathering. He conversed with the higher ups, Froststar a bit to casually, until it was time for announcements. Bluemonarch, WindClan's deputy, made accussations towards ShadowClan, which Cardinalglow did not take lightly to. Froststar's announcement also ended with a back handed comment about ThunderClan near Sunningrocks, and he was deeply offended. Bearstep announced Timberfrost's death, not disclosing the cause, and Houndrunner(Salem) joining the Clan under his new name. Cardinalglow said she was now Cardinalstar as their previous leader Burntbelly stepped down, and she also made negative comments about WindClan. It started to rain as they stepped off the rock, and one of RiverClan's warriors, Hibiscusblaze, accused ThunderClan of murder. She brought up Darkwhistle and he got furious, the two's fight needing to be broken up by Froststar as StarClan was angry and covered the moon. He was angry and escorted his cats out of Fourtrees. A few days later Hailstar confided in Bearstep about an argument that happened between their warriors and RiverClan's deputy, Dovewhisper, and Hibiscusblaze. He took himself, Sunfern, and Goldendream on a patrol to see if they were there once more, and he ran into Beavertail. They bickered as Hibiscusblaze also showed up, calling them murderers once more. One wrong comment from Beavertail about Darkwhistle was all it took for Bearstep to attack him. Sunfern tried to break it up until Hibiscusblaze said they murdered Timberfrost, and then his other two Clanmates were on her. Bearstep and Beavertail got good hits on each other, but it was over when a mighty blow on Bearstep's head dazed him. The patrol retreated, running into Wiltingflowers and Houndrunner outside of camp as Bearstep was carried back to be treated. While he was healing, he found himself more bound in camp and talked to Spiderkit more often, the she-kit commenting she wanted to be just like him. He promised her that when the weather got warmer and the flowers were blooming, he'd show her the best spots to find them when she was an apprentice. He also found it more pleasant to talk with Goldendream, the egotistical tom seeming to talk a little less about himself as of late. Upon a visit at Sunningrocks, Bearstep came across the corpse of Sprucestrike, one of RiverClan's medicine cats. In a panic, he tried to drag the corpse back to RiverClan and ignore the mysterious bloodbath around him, but Beavertail and Froststar had caught him at a bad time. Beavertail launched into attack on Bearstep and brutally wounded him, Bearstep only getting one good hit right on his artery before Froststar pushed his warrior off and onto the frozen river. Froststar coldly told Bearstep to leave and gave ThunderClan a warning as he tried to explain the situation. As he ran off, the last he heard was a sickening crack from the ice, followed by a splash. He passed out upon making it to camp, giving his Clanmates quite a scare, especially Wiltingflowers. As he told the story in the medicine den, everyone present assured him they knew he was innocent. Spiderpaw and Ravenpaw were made apprentices, with their mentors being himself and Finchberry. Over the course of Bearstep healing, Finchberry burst into camp, frantically calling for him and Hailstar. The deputy was led out of camp by the warrior, only, to his shock, to find the collapsing body of Sunfern. The stench of blood and canine was overwhelming, and they immediately took him to Wiltingflowers' den. However, it ended up being too late. Bearstep had to find Finchberry and coax him back to camp as he was weeping at Timberfrost's grave, as he had now lost both of his fathers. Sunfern's death shook the Clan and everyone grieved, but the dog was no where to be found when searched for. Seeming to not be all there as a result of her grief, Hailstar declared war on RiverClan. The day before the Gathering, it was also announced that ShadowClan would be their ally. Outrage pursued because no higher up was consulted of the decision, but Bearstep still assured Pigeonpaw it would be okay. In the chaos of the clearing, Silverdrop announced that RiverClan was a Dark Forest worhsipping Clan, knowing it because her brother, Goldendrip, supported them. On the night of the Gathering, no one made small talk due to tensions being so high. Upon getting on the Great Rock, Cardinalstar and Bluemonarch began to argue and lash out at each other, Bearstep trying to set them straight but Froststar began to spit words at him as well. The Gathering was live with fighting cats and Froststar accused Bearstep of murdering Sprucestrike, throwing feeble blows at him but missing. Noting that the tom wasn't well, he told the leader he would not fight him. He attacked Rowanspire, the ShadowClan deputy, and Bearstep forcefully hauled him off, ordering him to stop. All he had time to do was scratch Bearstep's nose before being pushed off of the Great Rock by Rowanspire. He checked to see if Froststar was okay, but he only seemed weaker and even more mad. Froststar told him that StarClan would show him the truth, and Bearstep brought up Goldendrip as a sore subject and accused them of worshipping the Dark Forest. Foul words were shared until the battle was called off and they had to return to their respective Clans. Silverdrop and Goldendream had been fatally wounded so he helped get them back to camp. Bearstep was angry that Hailstar didn't help in the battle, and wished she wasn't constantly around her kits so he could talk some sense into her. However, he couldn't hold it against his apprentice, Spiderpaw, and she had caught her first bird! She went to show her mother, but she was no where to be seen, and a blizzard had begun to kick up. In a panic, Bearstep gathered a patrol to find her, only to see her on Sunningrocks, sinking her teeth into a limp Froststar. Infuriated, he barreled into her and demanded to know what she was thinking, as a warrior, a LEADER, does not kill in battle. It seemed like ages until Froststar rose again, and that's when he finally realized their Clans were having another skirmish. Hailstar was injured by Bluemonarch and the battle was called off, and oh was she angry at Bearstep. However, the feeling was mutual. Wiltingflowers revealed to the both of them that at the medicine cats meeting, the Dark Forest had come into play. Cats from all four Clans had been possessed, Hibiscusblaze and Robinbreeze included. He tried to hunt with Robinbreeze and spend time with her, but she just responded sourly, and he regretted not seeing something was wrong sooner. While ShadowClan was staying at their camp, he found out Stoneridge and Midnightheart- one of the possessed cats- had become mates. Wiltingflowers pulled him away from the gossip to collect herbs at Sunningrocks, which he was uncomfortable with but obliged. There they met Hibiscusblaze- or the possessed one- and she tricked Wiltingflowers and attacked her. Bearstep defended her, but the RiverClanner wounded him and left him with a limp, so he slashed her face to fend her off. Realizing her plan to help her, Bearstep went back to camp to report to Hailstar. He was den bound with a limp, but Goldendream made frequent visits to him...also helping him realize his interest in toms. Midnightheart revealed to the Clan that Cardinalstar had died on their way to Mothermouth to speak with StarClan and unpossess her. Rowanspire was overwhelmed with grief and Bearstep comforted him, sharing memories from moons ago when the flood happened. Wiltingflowers interrupted to chew him and Hailstar out in her den for being disrespectful and not telling her things, but Bearstep argued she did the same with his injury and Hailstar was more at fault for not sharing info. They went to a meeting with all of the higher ups, and eventually came to the conclusion war needed to end and Sunningrocks would be shared, despite Hailstar almost ruining it. He told her this and she ordered him to her den, from there she called him a traitor for defending Froststar. He called her a sad excuse for a leader due to him fighting his battles for her, and assured Spiderpaw would turn out fine thanks to him, and that she had failed her Clan. The next day Wiltingflowers had pulled Bearstep aside and formally apologized to him, leading the two to have a bonding session. She told him she was not allowing Hailstar to speak at the Gathering, and he would take her place once more. Goldendream had began to chat with him before the Gathering and broke the news he and Silverdrop were mates, resulting in Bearstep being in a bad mood and feeling foolish that he had thought Goldendream's rehashed compliments had meant something. He had tried to be friendly with Froststar upon arriving at the Fourtrees meeting, but their relationship was still strained. They wasted no more time in starting the Gathering, and at the end Wiltingflowers announced all of the possessed cats had been freed from the grasps of the Dark Forest.(more to be added)
