Backstory

Brendon Inu Campbell is a toon, one created for the purpose of singing entertainment with his siblings, Steven and Allison, for an idol group named KT3. Toons are beings that are “created” from concept art and ideas. KT3 was made when this technology had been available for a while, but in small numbers. Through a heavy investment by their creators, Sylvia, Harrison, and James, they were made with little issues. During this time, voices had to be recorded and edited by existing people for the use of the toon, similarly to Vocaliods. Brendon’s voice provider was Harrison Stein, so the two sound very similar- almost eerily so to those who don’t know of the origin of this. Despite this need, the voices are very smooth, and KT3 themselves are indistinguishable from a normal person. With feelings, emotions, and the ability to age, flesh, blood, etc. Brendon is not a robot or a program; he was just created through means outside of… traditional creation. A bonus of this is the ability to skip to a prime age for their usage. Thinking kids would be a cute lure for the group, their creators made them to begin life at age 13.

Brendon was created after Steven and Allison, each of them all being about a month apart in age. After the three got used to, y’know, living, they began learning to sing and dance and all that good stuff. They were all talented at this and quick learners, since this was their created purpose. They grew very close, and were undistinguishable as normal siblings in their behavior towards one another. This went on for a few years, and KT3 was a somewhat success. They were not mainstream by any means, but they had a dedicated following and were popular in many circles. All of them enjoyed what they did, though they only sang and danced to the songs, not taking any part in the making of them- all that work was done by their creators. Each of said creators had a unique view on the group. James Drew, the one who designed their physical forms, views them as nothing more than an art piece or a prop. He does not believe them to be real people, though he isn’t particularly cruel to them, just apathetic. Brendon and him hardly spoke. Harrison Stein is the main manager of all the group’s affairs, and because of this he sees himself as their agent, with them being employees of sorts. He cares for them well enough, but nothing compares to the love Sylvia Campbell has for the three. Seeing them all as her children, she is protective and loving in all regards.

All was well for the group until Harrison got handed an opportunity that could change everything. A big producer was willing to help push their creations into the main stream- but on many conditions. The group would have to be limited to Brendon, the lead, and the style of music needed to be changed. This seemed incredibly drastic, but the funding this would provide for the team would be astronomical. If they went with this and Brendon succeeded, they could be rich. Harrison just needed to have Brendon agree to this, since his cooperation would be necessary, and his signature was needed to seal the deal on the contract since he would become the star of the show. Harrison went to Brendon and told him all these ideas of fame and a never-ending spotlight, and being a dumb 16-year-old boy, he was ecstatic at the concept. He didn’t think much of the consequences, and signed the contract, sealing his role as a solo act.

That was the end of KT3. Allison and Steven were all but swept to the side when it came to the “group.” Finding comfort in only each other (and Sylvia), they began to grow very upset with their situation. While Brendon was out having a blast and getting to do so much, they were left behind in the dust as if they were nothing. Music and performing was their passion, too, how come Brendon got to still enjoy the life they used to have together? Brendon was oblivious to their growing unrest. He thought that the two would be happy for him, and he still talked to them all the time- at least, as much as he could when he’s not being dragged away to do something else. He didn’t notice their envy and sadness, only focusing on the endless spotlight he was promised by doing all this. But, a few months into this endeavor, something happened.

Steven and Allison run away.

This seemed out of the blue for everyone except Sylvia, who went into a panic trying to get in contact with them and find them. Brendon was heartbroken and so very upset, trying to help Sylvia in finding them. Where did they go? Why did they leave? There was no note. The only sign that they left on purpose was that their favorite possessions were missing- except Allison’s idol outfit, which was left splayed out neatly on her bed. It was a message, but one which Brendon didn’t understand at the time.

During the first months following Steven and Allison’s disappearance, Brendon was a disaster. He hardly performed, only doing so when heavily pressured by Harrison. Over the course of the year he picked it up again, but only because he was terrified of losing the momentum he’d gathered so far. Besides, he was contractually obligated. This didn’t change his mental state- he felt so alone and betrayed, and needed someone, anyone to latch onto. Sylvia was distant, Harrison was too busy with business, and James was a non-starter.

Then, Brendon met Jafie Torta. A girl a year older than him that he ran into in Lustelle. She had stopped him because she’d recognized him, and they hit it off almost instantly, talking for a bit before swapping numbers. She was really pretty, and seemed interested in talking to him. He was so desperate for one-on-one attention, that when she’d started flirting with him he’d latched onto her instantly. He and Jafie were soon dating, their relationship escalating pretty quickly. They’d go on dates often, and they talked a lot. He’d paid for everything when they were together, since he was sufficiently the wealthier of the two. At first, Jafie was keen on listening to him. He’d talk about his siblings and how much he missed them, and she would comfort him. Brendon was getting attached, and he found himself doing more and more for her. She was his first girlfriend, and he was absolutely smitten.

This went on for about half a year before things started to take a turn for the worst. Jafie was becoming less interested in comforting him, and would even get angry with him whenever he would talk about Steven and Allison. The irritation was slow at first, but it grew more and more until she snapped at him and asks him why she wasn’t enough. Why did he keep clinging to the idea of his siblings when she was right here? Is she really so horrible of company that he would rather think of them instead? To which Brendon panicked and tried and tell her that that’s not true, and that he loved her so much. Jafie would be calmed in that moment, but things would only get worse. Anytime Brendon showed signs of being upset over anything, she would get mad at him. Anytime he spoke to another woman, she’d accuse him of cheating. Anytime they went out, she’d speak over him and belittle him- it was endless. Brendon was so confused and upset, how did this happen? He became more and more miserable, but beared with it since he thought he needed her and that she did care about him- but then he found out she was cheating on him with some other dude. He saw them together, and everything just bubbled out. As soon as he saw Jafie alone next he blew up on her, yelling at her for everything she’d done to him. Jafie played the victim through the whole thing, eventually leaving him.

From then on, Brendon swore that he wouldn’t get attached ever again. Never again would he let himself be used. But, soon he realized he still wanted the pleasures of a relationship. To put it bluntly, he wanted the attention and the sex. So, he became what most pop star boys are known for- being a playboy bitch. The personality switch wasn’t overnight. Over the years, Brendon became more and more famous, meaning more attention than he was ever getting as the lead in KT3. This fanned an ego inside him, and his confidence grew as more time went by. Girls and boys his age wanted him like candy, and he ate it all up. Going through one after the other, Brendon felt like he was enjoying life again. He started drinking at 19, using his influence to get into bars and drink despite his age. He is consumed by the life of fame, but he was never truly happy. Brendon still missed Steven and Allison, and still, subconsciously, wanted a deep, loving connection with another person. He wanted actual happiness. All his true feelings and sadness were always buried deep inside him, since he knew nobody cared about his dumb problems.

Everyone is out for themselves.

Present Day

Brendon, now 23, is a bit different.

He fell in love with a girl named Anias, a YouTuber who plays videogames online. They met on Twitter when she made fun of him- a budding romance, I know. They got into an argument, which turned into constituent arguments, which turned into arguments/conversations in dms, which turned into Brendon kinda thinkin she’s cute, which turned into him accidentally getting super drunk one night and talking to her a bunch and then dropping a bottle and stepping on the glass and telling her this, causing her to come to his house because he has glass in his feet now, which turned into her having to carry him and him trying to kiss her, which turned into her dropping him, which eventually, somehow, turned into the epic romance we know today.

In the “present day” he is simply dating Anias, oblivious to the fact that her roommate is Allison. He never goes to her apartment, and they never talk about her roommate really, so he is so close to his siblings and doesn’t even know it lmao! Anyway, Brendon is significantly happier, having stopped his serial heart-breaking ways, but is still a whiny egotistical bitch. He still has yet to fully open up emotionally to Anias at this time, but he is better off than he was before, that’s for sure.

Other than that, Brendon is the same. He’s a bit of a drunk, a bit of a dickhead, the whole thing. His relationship with his creators is still distant, despite Sylvia having tried desperately to connect with him over these past few years since he began changing. He doesn’t speak to her outside of business, just like the rest of them. Sylvia, despite it all, still tries to act like the mother figure she always was, but he rejects that idea.
