Introduction
❝ Even if this place isn't perfect, it is the sole place that accepts me. ❞
Solisse is the chief of the Grand Metropolis Police Department.
A cool cat, she oversees the police and military operations of one of the tech giant cities of Mobius. This job has her busier than folks could ever imagine. As this is the capitol city of a revolutionary empire, military operations are of course heavy here. Solisse does not let any of this stop her, however. She finds the work she does interesting, as well as the cause fought for here. If anything, this job is probably the best place she could be in to contribute anything. For in the world that is fought for, everyone has different ideas on who belongs... And who does not. Joining the Eggman Empire is out of the question.
But Solisse had little to no place in the tight-knit Freedom Fighters, either. . .
Likes
- Piloting, it makes her feel alive.
- City and neon lights are the most beautiful thing in her eyes.
- Mornings are beautiful, and most calm, too. Very peaceful.
- Glass. It's colourful and can be sculpted with. Shines brilliantly and makes light dance, yet it's very delicate. Solisse finds appeal in this combination.
- Dragons. They can be fierce or elegant. Ruthless or noble. Beautiful or menacing. Yet, they are always powerful.
Dislikes
- Cannot handle spice whatsoever, and hates it.
- Due to her low heat tolerance, she despises the summer and hot climates as well. Hates dry areas like deserts the most. There's literally nothing there worth experiencing.
- Paperwork... In this day and age, why is it even necessary? Automation is a good thing for administrations. Paper is wasteful at this point. Kills trees, too.
- People who hate/neglect Chao. It sends Solisse into a frenzy if she witnesses Chao abuse.
- Strong smells. Especially of oil.
Backstory
Solisse and her sister... Were always getting into trouble.
Solisse was a studious cat who tried to score a good life for herself and her sister. Her sister was a hedgehog who had strength and despite her methods, managed to keep them both alive in this smoky realm. The pair were orphans running around in the slums of an industrial zone. A life of rummaging through trash, stealing, and murder is far from normal. Or elegant. But no matter how much she tried to go through school and get a degree... She had to drop out. It was either school, or take care of her sister. Who refused to participate in class and always got herself into trouble. Because despite their circumstances, they were free. They had no parents harping down on them on what to do. Why stick around to teachers? Willingly?
It was this logic that got Solisse roped into more than a few heists of trouble. Solisse tried to pretend she enjoyed it. But she was always the reluctant one when breaking into forbidden places and running from the cops.
The Machine Revolution
It should have been obvious that Solisse and her sister would be caught up in the Eggman Empire's affairs, living so close to one of their cities and running loose. Both children were swept up by the man himself, and put into labour. Much to Solisse's horror, she watched her sister cosy up to that madman. Being a good Daddy's Little Girl, her enthusiasm for crime made her the perfect henchwoman. Solisse's studious nature... made her a good lab technician, or something like that. Now working in two different fields, the sisters were separated. And each passing day, Solisse worried about her maddened sister...
It was this job that exposed Solisse to the ""nonliving"" soldiers of the empire. Little more than chess pieces of the empire. Solisse found herself working on repairing countless of Egg Pawns and other badniks so they could be later deployed. Some talked. Some didn't. And there was one in particular that was always there but at a distance. Just barely audible to her while she worked.
Metal Sonic.
Robotnik's perfection. The closest replica of Sonic he had ever achieved. A rival and equal meant to surpass their blue nemesis. How proud the doctor seemed to be of this curious robot. But only in public. Behind closed doors, Robotnik would be the ONLY ONE allowed to work on Metal Sonic. But it was here where Solisse overheard what the Doctor truly thought of Metal Sonic.
More was expected of him. How dare he come back with so many failures in his hands when he was made to be an equal of Sonic's? Not an inferior!
The otherwise perfect soldier soon began to internalise those frustrations. And all of a sudden, came the day. Where he would shut down this place and take over the Empire disguised as his now locked up master. It would be very soon... That a revolution would start here. And the new masters... Would be Doctor Robotnik... And Neo Metal Sonic.
The Consequences
It was time to high-tail out of here. This place was no longer worth staying in, and the drama would soon get worse from here. Solisse joined the new overlord of the now fractured empire. She joined after the revelation of the treatment that the mechanical soldiers all underwent. After hearing of the few rogues that managed to escape. Seizing newfound strength in this sector of the empire, Solisse returned for her sister. She should have expected what her sister's stance would be. But disappointment shot her in the heart as she witnessed her maddened sister remained firm in the Eggman Empire. It was Solisse that was considered a traitor. . .
. . .All alone in a place she never even wanted to be in, Solisse now found herself in a revolutionary army, and living in the next capitol city over. The now established Grand Metropolis. This city needed to build itself somehow. So Solisse signed up into its police force. Where she'd rise through the ranks and become the chief of the GMPD. In this position, she would oversee many operations of this rebelling empire. Sometimes meeting with Neo Metal Sonic himself from time to time, whenever he decided to check on things here. After every interacton, Solisse is reminded... Of the perfect opposite she had become to her sister...
...and laments it.
Why couldn't things just... Be normal...?
To think they were just street orphans.
And not they both served high ranks in supposed evil empires.

At least here, she was accepted.
Misc
Trivia
- Solisse is one of two of my first OCs. She stemmed from a Sonic Self-Insert. She was later split into her own character, with the human side of her eventually becoming Hazel.
- Solisse's sister is a character from a roleplay, one that later stopped coming online. This is represented and coincides almost perfectly with the Eggman Empire's split in Sonic Heroes, the game they both reference.
- Solisse has gone through several iterations. This is more due to memory issues attributed to lost records. Much of Solisse's character history has been lost to time.
- Solisse's last name is Scarlette. This is a reference to the sister's name, Saphira. The name has been chosen to make an ironic contrast between the two characters.
- The irony is further referenced by the inverted colours compared to their names. Saphira was constantly drawn in red, while Solisse was constantly drawn in blue.
- Solisse's ponytail is actually curved upward. This is a reference to the time where she had electrical powers, and her hair was kept up by static. The powers were scrapped, but the design element stayed.
Relationships
Chroma Cat
Solisse's junior and somewhat of an apprentice. A charming girl that brightens up Solisse's day even if she does not show it.
