Deep in the snowy forests, a creature lurks silently among the drifts. Some say that on a cold winter's night, they've heard the hiss of a secret on her misty breath. The swirling black of the bitter cold night is pierced by red eyes and a sharp laugh. Watch your step, traveler, for those who wander into her realm seldom make it out.

Lumikki is a creature of the forest and the protector of the taiga she calls home. Her home protects her, too; her magic permits her to travel imperceptibly throughout her realm, and she leaves no tracks in snow. The air freezes on her breath, and frost grows from her touch. She can summon or banish wintry weather at will.

Physically, Lumikki stands at an imposing 2 meters/78 inches tall. Her face and build are humanoid, but she sports large ears and a long tail. Her body is covered in blue-gray fur. She cares little for any issues of ettiquete, and her attire for any occasion consists only of a mask resembling an arctic fox.

Lumikki had a sister, long ago. Both were wordsmiths, both were magic. When it came time to leave the nest, sunny Susanna wove her way into the hearts of thousands, singing across the cosmos. But while Susanna thrived in the warmth of the spotlight, Lumikki withered under its glare. To escape the burning gazes of what seemed like anyone and everyone, Lumikki fled. She fled back home, but when she got there, she still felt the eyes upon her back. So she went further and further still, as far as she could get from the piercing eyes of others, until she found herself in the wintry realm of the far north. To this day, she roams the taiga amidst legends of a creature who prowls through the snowdrifts. To this secretive and solitary creature, the frozen taiga is a paradise, but she still maintains an incredibly important friendship. Lumikki leaves her home every year to visit Indra the Stormweaver in his home deep in the tropics. In her absence, the summer can thaw her homeland. In the same fashion, when Indra comes to visit Lumikki Ikirouta, allowing the dry season to come to the rainforest.
