Alex is the bastard of a wealthy man. He lived in his father's mansion in the upper floor where is mother also lived, as his father didn't have the heart to keep them both on the streets but they were both shunned from the household. They were treated well, but Alex's mother was sick. She loved Alex deeply but her love was tainted by her insanity, so Alex could never leave her side. He loved his mother very much too of course, only faintly aware of her abuse when she began to cut him in place of herself, as she thought it made them closer. He would often escape to the gardens just to get outside. It was there that he eventually fell into another world where he was apparently a hero and met Gilly, Charles, and Kieran. But if anyone confronts him about his scars he will desperately defend his mother. Still, he doesn't ever return to his world to see her again
