History: Stepping out of the mist beside brothers, sisters and friends she had known was disorienting. Her eyes immediately picked out those missing and her heart sank. The strange feeling when she'd stepped into the Veil with her family tugged at her fur, lagging her mind even as she tried to focus on the foreign world. Her brother stood proudly, and she stared, his once-mangled leg healed as Maia had promised; the power of the Veil protected her people, her pride from the dangerous two-legs. Even the thought of them brought a snarl to her lips even as her eyes searched for the one face she'd hoped had made it. Laga watched, shocked as her pride split into twos and threes, small families with nothing holding them together since their leaders hadn't appeared with them. Laga hesitated, looking back as friends moved on without a parting word. Confused, she finally followed her brother, looking back as her breath came in short pants and her heart twisted painfully. Her nose full of his memory made her paws stumble. She wasn't even aware when her brother gently herded her after their parents gently. Laga suddenly stopped, refusing to admit her missing mate was truly dead until she saw a body and pelted off into the forest until she could no longer hear her brother's voice calling her name.

Laga lurked in the area for days, lost confused and only half aware of her surroundings, so focused on what she had expected and slowly being torn in pieces the longer time passed. Seeing memories of places super-imposed over what was now in front of her in a disorienting double-image that flickered constantly. Finding places now foreign only confused her further until she was nearly mad with grief and confusion. Laga wandered aimlessly, ignorant of the presence of humans nearby until she nearly stumbled into their camp. The liothuna fled before the humans could do more than dive for their weapons. She waited until they'd settled in for the night and crept back into the middle of their camp, then methodically tore the three hunters apart. The memories of her mate fighting to protect her - seemingly a lifetime ago, but to her mind, it had only been days - her brother being gored, leg nearly decapitated as a human spear tore through it wrong, her friends dying around her from the ambush; all that flickered through her mind until she was satisfied. She ended up with a broken arrowhead embedded in her shoulder, cuts everywhere and blood nearly dripping off her coat. There was little left of the unfortunate hunters. When she turned to take a step, her legs buckled, collapsing beneath the strain of the last few days, the lack of food and her wounds. The rush of adrenaline whooshed away and she collapsed, unconscious.

--
She woke in a large cave, surprisingly warm against a much smaller form. For a long moment, her scattered mind didn't connect the warm body with a real gran, but slowly, Laga slowly settled back into her surroundings. She was curious when she discovered she was being cared for a vibrantly purple granthrow of some sort and a pale white granthera. They were kind and protective, the Granthera staying between her and whomever came in the cave to leave food for them. Slowly, she recovered with time, enough food and attention. Eventually, she remained conscious enough to introduce herself and the two - Neremys she discovered was a Pralthrow, a hybrid between a granthrow and an alkeru - and Atachi was the Granthera. After a few more days, Laga was introduced to an enormous Panthrow - a Northern Panthrow, whatever that was.

Abraxis was the alpha of the small family, the head of the herem of the two females, though there was a third, a startlingly short Granthera by the name of Bharani. Slowly, Laga recovered, though her memories still haunted her, she became more aware as the three females began helping her learn more about her surroundings. Once Atachi, the oldest of them, learned she was from before the Veil, the older granthera was able to help the lio fill the missing gaps in her memories.
