Ospreii

Ospreii was born as an identical twin to her sister Dlalli. The two were always inseperable throughout their time in college where they studied Synergetics. Ospreii never made top marks, but she was diligent in her studies and passed with honors a few ranks behind her sister. After graduation, she was surprised when Sol Llohlas and Rezi, the valedictorians of her class, approached her and her sister and offered them a spot on their krewe, along with Rezi's good friend Struessel.

For the time that the krewe operated together, the five asura grew close and lifetime friendships were forged. Unfortunately, it wouldn't last, as one experiment they conducted, in which they attempted to harness energy from the Mists, went bad. Their equipment short circuited, opening unstable portals into the Mists. Ospreii fell into one of these, and did not emerge again.

Alone and trapped in an empty gray wasteland landscape within the Mists, she had no idea how to help herself. She began to wander, hoping to find an exit, but there was nothing. Sometimes, terrifying beasts she couldn't describe appeared. Unable to fight back, she had no choice but to flee. After an unknown number of days, she collapsed and was found by another traveler. This traveler nursed her back to health, and lead her to another location. They told her this was a hub of sorts where the fabric between the Mists and multiple Tyrias was thinnest. Together, they peered into cracks in the air showing countless realities over the course of many days, and got to know the stranger as an eccentric sylvari named Dierdre. Eventually, Ospreii found the one she felt was undeniably hers. Parting ways and promising to meet again someday, Dierdre give her a lot of cryptic advice, such as to seek out a time-manipulating mesmer someday.

The portal opened in somebody's house, and a quick look around suggested the house belonged to Rezi and Sol, marriage pictures hanging on the walls. She reunited with her krewe, who had since split up, and found out three years had passed here while she was lost and wandering in the Mists. A look in a mirror showed she herself had become just as monochrome as that vast wasteland, no longer matching her sister's bright colors.

Life set on a radically new path, Ospreii decided to depart for the Durmand Priory to dedicate herself to researching the things she had witnessed in the hub. This led her to meeting Trahearne, and founded the Pact with him. She met many of her allies in Maguuma, including Ciaran, Maeve and Kestrel. In the time since Orr, her and Trahearne had grown very close and affectionate, and his death was a major blow to her.

She perished fighting Balthazar in the riverlands, and returned to life in time to join Ciaran midway through the final confrontation with the human god, bringing them to victory. Partway through the charr civil war, she decided she needed to step back from commanding, and continued her studies and finalized her journals at the Priory, making a reappearance for the fight against Soo-won. When things were looking bleak for Ciaran and Aurene, overwhelmed by void, Ospreii decided made a sacrifice. Connecting with Vlast through the Mists, becoming the champion she never had the chance to be, she channeled enough of his dragon magic from the afterlife to keep the void at bay long enough for them to get back on their feet.

This cost her her life itself, a dead dragon's magic being necrotic by nature, rather than empowering like Aurene's. She and Soo-won are commemorated together, signaling the end of an era, and a torch passed to the new cycle. Her work has been completed, and she would rest along with the dragons she had slain.
