About

Personality [laid-back / friendly / mischievous / optimistic]

A man that can be seen lying about at ass o’clock with a sketchbook and pencil in hand, and sometimes another pencil in his mouth, who then proceeds to greets you way too cheerfully at 7am (after an all-nighter of course). Liu Wen is someone who does everything at his own pace, unless forced otherwise.

Laid-back, mischievous and jovial, Liu Wen can be both relaxing and stressful—depending on the circumstances—to be around. Typically reassuring when his pace is steady, and varying levels of stress when working fast as lightning or slow as a snail (or uh simply not moving at all). He enjoys ribbing his friends and can be seen with a shit-eating grin when he manages to rope his friends into purposelessly pointless argu--debates.

However, the randomness at which his thoughts jump around can be a bit off-putting and some of his comments can be rather blunt and insensitive due to his curiosity and often time, lack of filter, though he’s quick to pick up on when he fucked up.

Quite cheesy, it's something that's mellowed a bit out over the years but he's still cheesy. Just less. He likes making his appreciation known and always makes a point to make sure the others how valued they are. Even if he has to be dramatic about it. Sometimes a positive thing, sometimes a negative.

He is hard to faze and disturbingly accepting of bewildering situations and news. Liu Wen takes a lot of things in stride, his steady and optimistic nature often keeping those around him calm. On the other hand, his natural optimism can also end up peeving others in stressful situations.

A very physical individual, Liu Wen often communicates through touch. From reassuring touches on the shoulder, bone-crushing hugs of happiness or simply having an arm slung around someone’s shoulders. One can always find Liu Wen somehow in contact with whichever friend is sitting with him. His long limbs make it all too easy to stretch across the couch to shove his cold feet under someone’s legs (mostly to Song Zhen’s annoyance).

Seemingly simple in his desires, Liu Wen doesn’t typically come off as a very ambitious individual. A roof over his head, enough money for food and art supplies and surrounded by his family and friends. Liu Wen’s more than content. But life’s a bitch and money is happiness. So when there was a job, Liu Wen’s plans were often ambitious, determined to take every penny and beyond (yeah he’d charge extra).

Background

At the end of this road, wouldn't you say we had a pretty good run?

Liu Wen was a prominent forger back in the day before switching over to ~art authenticating~ as it was better for legal reasons. He mainly switched over to Yunfei, so he could live a “safer” and more legal~ life. Even though Liu Wen still kind of does the occasional under the table (well I mean all forgery is under the table) forgery. Just for fun.

Authenticating art kind of comes too easy for Liu Wen, unless the particular forgery is extremely old. His psychometric abilities allow him to see an object’s past and well, it’s almost like a cheat (It’s a cheat, says Yunfei). Just a touch and you are very welcome. That doesn’t mean Liu Wen has no skills though, he still put in the work to become a ~professional~ and while his abilities aren’t exactly a secret, Liu Wen still prefers to not make so much noise with them.

Liu Wen has always enjoyed art. Often drawing and painting when he was young and then mainly drawing when he went on the road. He had sold some random pieces here and there, usually for less than a pretty penny. He had no reputation and hadn’t really been interested in building one. He simply loved drawing and more than often, gave away whatever he drew to those interested.

It was only after settling down that Liu Wen began to build a small reputation of his own. While Liu Wen isn’t exactly sought after, he makes do.

Despite his imposing stature and his relaxed (or is it lazy) attitude at times, Liu Wen was the brains in his group back when he was still working as a mercenary. It wasn’t that Liu Wen was extremely intelligent, he just played things smart. Even if playing smart resulted in chaos (which he absolutely loved), they were always safe…usually.

A shame my family could never let me go...I truly apologize for leaving so soon.
