Bivouac is a hefty roe deer who is quite large for his species. He is a serious Outrider who never fails to fulfill his responsibilities and does as he is told without question, even if it seems like the wrong thing to do. He rarely speaks unless spoken to first and seems fairly intimidating to most of the herd.
During the time that Scorr tried to lead the Great Herd, Bivouac did not get marked as one of the Scorrla. He was too young—almost a year old.
The scar on his face and neck came from a fight over a hind when he was about 3 years old. The fight was between him and a fellow roe buck who still sharpened his antlers, who he ended up losing against. Nobody remembers this, though, and most of the herd has come up with stories on how he got the scars—since he doesn’t say much and the buck that he fought had been killed by a pack of hunting dogs only a year later.
