Akatsuki was born during a lunar eclipse. The blood moon phenomenon could be seen that day and so her name was inspired by it. However, she prefers to give more importance to the moon's light than to the red unusual colour.

Her low luck has stricken several times when trying to help her prayers, and so she developed some fear of messing things up or not being helpful enough. She takes her goddess work to heart, but her energy to perform it is medium-low.

She's good in returning harmony to unstable energies and awakening spiritual powers. Often Onmyouji visit her small temple to ask for help with their spiritual powers. She does her best to attend them, but it takes much time attending such petitions.

When she was younger she had some romantic relationships with other lesser deities, even some humans and yokais. So far none of them has become meaningful enough to accompany her through a longer period of time.
