Orion Cruz

Orion is living their dream of being a champion high-speed antigravity racer. After growing up in a poorer part of Manchester, they were scouted by the then-brand new Buoyant Collective and worked tirelessly to get where they are now - though their calm demeanor is often mistaken for blasé confidence.

Early in their career they have disrupted the status quo of the sport, dominated by larger teams with far more funding, and with a couple of podium places under their belt they are the target of much competition. While not the number one favourite for first place this season (this honour goes to their main rival, Capital Letter) they are a popular bet, and many credit Orion with reinvigorating a stagnant sport.

In their personal life Orion is a partier and serial romantic, often ending up in tabloid headlines after being spotted leaving other racers' hotel rooms. They also dj, both official club nights and illegal warehouse raves. They have a close sibling-like friendship with Buoyant's other driver, Cherry.

Their icon colours are #F5FFFA, #C7EBFC, and #089CFF. They are sponsored by energy drink company Moxie, sportswear brand Twist, and waterproof shoe brand Soak, amongst others.

Orion has been racing with Buoyant for three years after graduating their training school at 18. Unusually, their AG craft the Sound Bath (number 92) is custom fitted with soundproofing foam.
