Gorsepatch

gorsepatch is a yellow tabby tom with golden brown stripes along his body, usually curling up. he was born without an eye, which he covers with a makeshift eyepatch made of vines, feathers and flowers. It changes every so often as they need to fix it. their only eye is a light green.

gorsepatch is someone who gets annoyed very easily. they can snap quite easily and are mainly rude to others. he doesn’t really believe anyone would be kind to him unless they have a reason. they are obsessed with prove themselves, doing anything, even if it’s dangerous and stupid to prove he isn’t a waste of space. he has very low self-confidence and even though he tries, he doesn’t believe he can improve. he’s afraid of trying new things, and if they try something and fail he often won’t try again if it’s not important to the clan. he’s very protective and keeps up walls and doesn’t let others in easily. he’s especially protective of his eyepatch, and will turn violent if he feels someone is going to take it or destroy it. after coming back from their trial they feel like they don’t deserve a place among the clan and alienate themselves more because of this.

gorsepatch was born to rippledriver and sweetdrop along with their brother, callpaw. sweetdrop’s a tom who believes in cats being the best, so when gorsekit was born without an eye he began to avoid him. luckily, his mother was their for him and loved him like any mother would, gorsekit had his brother as well. unfortunately, rippledriver was killed by a stray dog when gorsekit was 2 moons old leaving him under sweetdrop’s care. now having to care for gorsekit sweetdrop began to verbally abuse gorsekit, only paying attention to callkit. sweetdrop managed to turn callkit on gorsekit, and gorsekit was now facing abuse from his brother and father.

due to the abuse they were facing from their brother and father due to their disability they grabbed some vines, feathers and flowers, creating a eyepatch. when gorsepaw became an apprentice he began to struggle with all his training, excluding climbing and swimming. due to his lack of skills, the abuse from callpaw and sweetdrop. it doesn’t help their self-esteem when their mentor is also disabled but does much better than them.

eventually the day of their trial came and they went onto it. gorsepaw failed to find anything to eat during the entire time until the final day. they found a mouse and when attempting to catch it ran into callpaw. both brothers starving, thirsty and not thinking straight a fight happened. gorsepaw managed to get a good kick in and send callpaw flying into a wall. however the two where in a very unstable area of the tunnels and it triggered a cave in. callpaw didn’t make it out and died within the caverns. terrified, gorsepaw ran off somehow finding himself back in camp and earning their warrior name gorsepatch, though they don’t feel like they deserve it.
