Rumple was born in really horrible conditions(similar to that of a puppy mill) due to how sought after their species is. Unfortunately, Rumple was having a very difficult time surviving in these conditions and was hardly even living and it was difficult to sell em so eventually the mill owners just ended up tossing em in a box and leaving em on the side of the road to die.
