i gotta get the curse quests lined up, the affinity quests lined up, and see where this can happen. SO FAR his power journey goes like this - flame affinity. he has strong natural magic and a tough, firey personality!!! these quests will likely show him as a young mage, becoming overconfident, snarky, and very, very ambitious. - something something about how vespires have strong fire magic, and how the witches in the woods can grant you a shapeshifter ability.... maybe this way, he can get what he wants. - ofcourse it goes horribly haywire with the side effects being, he can shape shift but the power was too overwhelming and his horn snaps - the pain is probably unbearable! next he feels something... moving of its own volition behind him. his tail lives! he got what he wanted, but lost a lot of his identity during the process. i think hed be ashamed of how he looks, and too scared to go home. OR! he goes home and is shunned for his misdeeds - and is told he is a bad omen unto his village.... - banished from his home, he leaves, alone.... besides his new snake tail that gives him attitude LOL rootsinger: - maybe his first glimpse at rootsinger magic is right before he cursed, like owens suggestion, walking thru cursed vines that keep back smart travelers who decide to not traverse the harsh earth... after his curse, i think he is blind to his affinity [lol] for magic still. too stuck in his head, he actually now is limiting his own power - but he thinks its because of the curse!!! SIKE IT WAS ALL A LIFE LESSON FOOL!!!!! he gains his root singer ability after confronting his ego and embracing his faults [instead of feeling shame.] i think he will also begin to observe other people and become empathetic - when before he was only ever really preoccupied with himself! even though he is defined by flame and thorns and snakes, he's embraced it all! and theeeen he lives his life as a traveler to see what the world has to offer. with his snake tail right behind him LOL
