Riley Veyron is the daughter two doctors. Her father being a physician and her mother making medicine using herbs. As a child she would often stay at home and either watch her mother work or mess around in the garden and developing her love for plants.
As not all the necessary herbs could be grown in her mother's garden, they often had the leave the small town to look for plants for much needed medicine. Since there aren't too many doctors in their hometown, they were usually escorted by hunters when away. One time when Riley was tagging along with her mother to learn about what herbs to look for, she spotted a small building nearby. Now curious, she decided to slip away to take a closer look and discovered it was an abandoned shrine.
From this point forward she often snug away from her town to visit the shrine, cleaning it up, planting flowers, fixing the damage she could and making it her personal retreat. However, it didn't take long untill she was found out and grounded for quite a while for leaving the town without notice and escort. She used that time to learn archery from the hunters, eventually reaching the point where she was deemed capable enough to leave town on her own, using the excuse of gathering herbs while actually visiting the shrine.
After some years of work, Riley managed to bring most of the shrine to a somewhat presentable state and was rewarded with a blessing of nature by the enshrined deity. While still more of a groundskeeper, not too long after she was known as a shrine maiden and used her new powers to help and protect her hometown. Shortly after taking up this new position, she lost her left arm when her town was attacked by a wild beast. Now she lives in the shrine, spending most of her time taking care of the gardens and plating flowers.
