She is very kind and loves to talk but is also very shy and needs time before she can really trust people.She has very little self confidence due to her past. She gets scared very easily.

Ira was born far away from Hallownest in a butterfly village where she lived with her Mother, Fahter and older sister. Since her birth her parents knew something wasn’t right with her because when she was born she didn’t had any wings only little stubs on her back. At first her parents thought that her wings would grow when she gets a bit older but they didn’t her wings never grew and that made her parents angry and disappointed because in the village is one rule that is most important to everyone there: ‘’The more beautiful your wings are, the more you are beautiful,, and because Ira didn’t had any wings she was hated by her parents and everyone else in the village what did lead to mean behavior and sometimes violence towards her.

No one wanted to do something with her and never really talked to her and her parents only did talk to her when they told her how disappointed they were to have a wingless child like her and that they wished she didn’t exist. And because of all that anger her parents had she often got hurt by them, they often whipped her back or did just cut it with a knife because they were so angry that she didn’t had wings. Ira has many old scars on her back from that and it really makes her sad that her parents did something like that to her.

But she wasn’t completely alone because she had her older sister Arlin who did protect her whenever she could the two of them have a really strong bond and would do everything to make the other one happy Arlin she really loves Ira and wants her to be safe and life a peaceful life. Despite that Ira is a really curious girl who likes to solve mystery’s and to learn new things about other lands and cultures, that’s why she decided to leave her village and go somewhere else where she could be herself and where no one would judge her for being different. Her parents didn’t really care they were actually really happy that she would go and leaves them alone but Arlin wasn’t really happy because as much as she wanted she couldn’t go with her in her she had to stay in the village with her parents and that was what made her sad because she knew she would miss her sister but was kinda happy to because that means Ira could finally be happy.

After that Ira left the village and wandered for some days until she came to Hallownest and as soon as she saw it she knew she had to stay and explore it and find out all his secrets since then she lived there in one of the houses in Dirtmouth and is really happy about it.
