Notes

  • Ares is a peaceful and calm dragon. He doesn't like to get into conflicts, he hates the thought of war or even getting into trouble. He will avoid strangers, mostly keeping to himself and staying reserved. Ares is sweet however, he can make a good friend once you get to know him but it may take some time. Ares is mainly quiet, never saying much and only gets along with those he is close too but if you can befriend him then he will remain a friend for life. He doesn't like taking risks much either, though if he really has too then he will. Ares can be brave but he just doubts himself too much. Maybe having a friend could change that though.
Story

Ares stands at the edge of a cliff overlooking the view out in front of him. The sun had only just risen, the birds in the nearby trees sing loudly and a gentle breeze brushes against his prawn coloured scales. The small dragon smiled lightly, he was just a small thing as of right now, just a youngling with an innocent imagination. He looked back toward the other dragons who were still asleep under the large trees. Ares bounds over to them, he sits down and tilted his head. They were so lazy, some of them would sleep all day. Ares was always the first to wake, he was excited for adventure and he honestly loved going out and seeing the world. Ares travelled in a small pod of around 6 dragons, he was the only youngling of the group and they had been travelling for a few weeks now trying to find the perfect home. It was difficult as some dragons were territorial or just wanted to start a fight. It was scary, especially for Ares but he knew as long as he stayed with his group that he would be okay. Ares wasn't born into this group though, he wasn't actually sure where he came from and when he hatched he was greeted by this group of dragons. He did ask sometimes, but he never got a straight answer and he had a feeling that they didn't want him to know. He didn't understand why, he often wondered if he had a different family and something bad happened to them. This was a forever changing world so he wouldn't be surprised. Though he was happy in his group, they took very good care of him and they all acted like a family. It was perfect. The larger dragons soon wake up, Ares jumps up happily "Good morning!" He says happily. One of the dragons smile at him, lowering his head toward him "Good morning, Ares" the dragon responds. Ares steps back "Are we going to fly today?!" He asks excitedly, he makes his way toward the edge of the cliff. The large dragon nodded "Yes, we are" he responded. Ares wiggles his tail excitedly, he is the first to jump off the edge and open his wings. He glides over some trees, lifting his head and closing his eyes. The wind rushing past him, and a burst of energy rushes over him. He looks back to see the group was following after him, he smiled and looks forward again. It was such a nice day, Ares had a good feeling about the day ahead. Hopefully today they would find a new permanent home to call their own

Ares looks down to a large field below, he decided to land and give his wings a rest fir a few moments. He hated being this small, it meant he had to take regulars breaks before flying again. The others land too, they didn't seem to mind having a rest along with him. Ares glances toward the sky as grey clouds gather, it became really windy and soon after started to rain. "We better get moving!" One of the dragons shouts. Ares has never really flown in the bad weather before, he felt nervous and was unsure but he didn't want to be left behind. The larger dragons start to fly again, fighting against the strong wind and harsh rain as the weather took a turn for the worst. Ares was flying behind, he kept being blown about by the wind and he was finding it difficult to keep up "Guys!" He whimpers. He couldn't fly in this weather, his small and weak body couldn't fight against it. Ares get going though, but the others were travelling way too fast and he felt himself tiring. Ares whimpers "Guys!" Slow..down!" He calls but they didn't hear him. Suddenly a large gust of wind hits against him making him lose control and spiral down towards a large pool of water. He bursts out from the water, it was freezing and without hesitation he made his way toward the grassy bank. He made it safely on land, he looked toward the sky frantically "Guys!" He calls loudly. He shivers due to the cold, he had to get out of this weather. He walks off heading into the forest and funds an empty den. He goes inside slowly, checking no one was in there before he settled down comfortably. The next morning, the storm had now passed and everything seemed peaceful again. Ares looked for his group but couldn't find them, they had probably travelled too far for him to catch up. He just hoped they would come looking for him too. Ares decided to make the den he had found his home. It would do for now. He would keep looking for his group though, they were basically his family and looked after him. Ares wasn't use to being on his own, he didn't like it. He curled up in the den, keeping himself warm and enjoying the view out in front of him. This would be fine. He wouldn't be alone forever. His family will find him. Hopefully.

A few years go by, Ares stands on a cliff top overlooking the forest. He had spent all this time alone, having to learn to defend himself and survive. It hasn't been easy for him. He did search for his group for a long while but soon gave up. He had a feeling he wouldn't find them. Maybe one day he will bump into them but for now he has gotten use to living alone. He is fine. This is fine. Ares was fine on his own. There's a big world out there and he wanted to see it all.
