- Lynatwyr is a rough, tough lady who grew up on the high seas.
- She likes to mess with people, although she's more prone to doing so with her close friends.
- Lynatwyr is friendly and jolly, liking to take time to hang out with strangers and friends alike. She just enjoys people's company no matter who it is.
- She's very loyal to her friends and won't hesitate to defend them if she has to.
- Lynatwyr often puts on a brave facade for those around her. As a Captain, she's aware people look to her for strength and stability. As a result, when grieving or experiencing intense negative emotions, Lynatwyr will often isolate herself, either on her ship's quarters or elsewhere where she believes none will follow her.
- Lynatwyr has intense anxiety and trauma related to Leviathan and Titan due to their roles in her parents' deaths. While she has since been able to face down both to avenge her parents, she still frequently has nightmares, anxiety, and panic attacks at the thought of either primal.
- Backstory:
- Growing up in the seas around Limsa Lominsa, Lynatwyr was born and raised to a pair of pirates, Wuntwilf Merlzirnsyn and Ankabhyda Grymkoelwyn.
- Following the fall of Ala Mhigo, her parents welcomed many refugees into their crew, including B'runi Masna, who quickly became Lyna's best friend.
- Due to the large presence of Boar clan Miq'otes on the ship, Lyna picked up many of their traditions, including the art of face painting.
- Five years prior to present day, Lynatwyr's parents, along with many members of the crew, sacrificed themselves in an attempt to stop Titan and Leviathan from crushing Limsa Lominsa.
- Left with a fraction of the crew, Lynatwyr procured a new ship, naming it Wuntwilfwyn's Revenge as a vow to fell the beasts that slew her parents, and began her life as a captain in hopes to live up to the legacy of her parents.
- With consult from Qoribucha Mankhad (Quartermaster and Xaela Au Ra) and Yvet Eryut (First Mate and Rava Viera), Lynatwyr became one of the most feared pirate captains in the seas of Limsa Lominsa. They would often raid expensive merchant ships, specifically those carrying cargo to and from Uld'ah, as the ships owned by Lolorito Nanarito and Teledji Adeledji were known to be quite profitable raids.
- At the start of the events of FFXIV, Lynatwyr dropped off B'runi in Limsa at the Miq'ote's request. While worried for her, Lyna was glad to see her best friend forging her own path. This inevitably caused Lynatwyr to question if what she was doing was living up to the legacy of her parents, and more importantly, if they'd be proud of the course she had taken in life.
- It was around this time Lynatwyr met Sua Khao. The two immediately hit it off, and Lynatwyr quickly became a frequent ferrier to Vesper Bay for Sua, and later, B'runi.
- On Sua and B'runi's recommendation, Lynatwyr and her crew eventually came to work as contract sailors for the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, on the condition they joined the Maelstrom grand company. While Lynatwyr was originally against this idea, a combination of Yvet talking her into it, Lyna's respect for Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn, and the promise of their bounties being lifted, ultimately convinced Lynatwyr to take the deal, much to Qoribucha's disgust.
- Relationships:
- Grew up with and is best friends with B'runi Masna.
- In a poly throuple with Bi'tala Nunh and Sua Khao. She cares deeply for both of them and frequently writes to them when she's at sea.
- While initially suspicious of Skye Shay, he has since won her respect, and Lynatwyr is very happy for B'runi.
- She's got a great deal of respect for Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn. Additionally, out of the Scions, she's closest to Yda Hext and Moenbryda Wilfsunnwyn. Following Moenbryda's passing, Lynatwyr starts wielding her axe.
- Pets:
- Lynatwyr's main pet is a red chocobo named Francis Drake.
- Lynatwyr has a number of pets courtesy of Sua, including a Castaway Chocobo Chick, a Kidragora, a Hedgehoglet, an Odder Otter, a Ghido, an Axolotl Eft, an Aurelia Polyp, and an Allagan Melon.
- Lynatwyr has a few Mammets as well including a Wind-up Airship, a Hatching Bunny, and a Wind-up Merlwyb.
- Lynatwyr also keeps a spawn of Leviathan, another gift from Sua. They claim that it's just another Mammet, but according to Sua it appears to be an actual spawn of the primal. Lynatwyr is uneasy about keeping such a beast aboard her ship due to its parent's role in her parents' deaths, but for now she tolerates it, knowing if raised correctly, it could become quite the fearsome beast at her command.
- General Notes:
- Lynatwyr allows her friends to address her as "Lyna". Those that aren't friends, she prefers call her by her full name or as "Captain Wuntwilfwyn".
- Her name means "Linen Dwarf, Daughter of Under Wolf" in Roegadyn. Despite this, she's actually the tallest in her family.
- Before becoming captain of the ship, Lynatwyr frequently patched the sails on her parent's ship.
- Following the events of Post-Heavensward, Lynatwyr damaged her right shoulder pretty badly, causing her to switch from Marauder to Machinist primarily. She is also now predominantly left-handed because of this.
- Signature pose is standing with her arms crossed.
- There's a running joke that she gets drunk a lot because Siren lags so badly that sometimes people's characters and/or their animations don't load in at all, rendering them invisible to Lynatwyr.
- She has a thick Irish accent.
