Izumi is very socially flexible and behaves in a way he thinks others want him to to feel included. He also adapts to situations as demanded and he can be a party animal or a quiet listener depending on what is asked of him. As such, he seems to be quite skilled at copying behaviors and also lying which has earned him the reputation of being "fake" because sometimes his personality around one person is the complete opposite around someone else. It can even range from being utterly shitty, arrogant and oppressive around a bully type friend to being calm, kind and understanding with their victim. Even if he disliked someone, he would be actively trying to get on their good side.
He has an intense fear of disappointing others or being disliked for who he is that he rather be someone else, be it in professional or social situations. There are very few people he shows his real self to, and even with them, he finds himself trying to be their perfect friend sometimes.
He admires but also often envies people who can be true to themselves and still fit in while he spends every second mentally noting down others' responses, so he can adapt his behavior when he feels like he hasn't created the right impression.

Feral Mind (Type: Transformation)

Izumi's quirk lets him tap into an animal's primal senses and boosts his performance, bringing out abilities that he wouldn't have in his usual state. He does need some kind of pressure/trigger to access it fully.

Technique: "Primal Rage" (self, offensive) lets him drop all control over his usually so very composed self and his animal side takes over. This state is usually triggered by a situation that induces rage.
"Wild Hunt" (supportive) Izumi's heightened senses and enhanced reaction and agility allow him to easier find, catch and subdue villains.

Trivia

☆ He has a lot of overlap between chameleon effect and quiet BPD, but it is undiagnosed

☆ His tentative hero name Maki is a fond nod at one of his mom's earlier boyfriends who had always treated him well. He used to call Izumi Maki-chan (薪ちゃん), since he showed his fiery personality with him, and Izumi adapted it in reference to his quirk that also needs some kind of force to trigger and light a fire

☆ His mom has been following her relationships around and moving houses with her son often, so Izumi hasn't been able to make a lot of longterm friends. His only close friends Chihiro, Mirio and Tamaki keep in contact even as Izumi moves away far enough that he has to change middle schools

☆ Since Izumi was a child, he has always been very empathetic and thus very early noticed that his mom seems to resent him for something. Thinking it was something he did, he wants to do better and supports her in anything! He also adapts to try to please all her new boyfriends, thinking she'll be happier with a stable relationship
