Saelvyre (pronounced 'Silver') is a bard/musician from a land in my world called Poje (loosely Korea inspired). They are the middle child of two herbalists who made a small fortune selling medicine during a war fought in Saelvyre's childhood. As a female-identifying child, Saelvyre had always been really bright, happy, positive-minded, and musically gifted since young, and showed promise as a musician/bard enough that at age 15 she was being scouted by various academies across the lands. However, at 15 something traumatic happened to her involving a beloved music tutor abusing her power over Saelvyre, which left Saelvyre with the belief that "I am only loved for my feminine beauty" and that "to stand out is to invite trouble". Due to that scar, Saelvyre gave up on her aspirations as a musician and decided to take over the apothecary run by her parents, choosing to live a low-key lifestyle and identifying as non-binary. Even then, they remain positive, offering laughter and humor generously as their own brand of medicine, even while holding a deep pain in their chest that almost nobody knows about.
