Mere Mirror

Mere Mirror is bad luck incarnated, a below-average Joe, who always seems to wind up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He is very tall, with a complexion that matches his head’s frame. Whenever he leaves the house, he likes to dress nicely, though he always seems to be the victim of a wardrobe malfunction. The glass on his face is broken into pieces, and it’s unsure whether it’s always been this way or if something happened.

Mirror works as an office worker, after searching up “safest jobs” and seeing it on the list. It’s simple, it’s quiet, and if things go wrong, at least he's in his cubicle and not at a construction site, or a factory, or in a car, or… you get the point.

He’s well-liked by his coworkers, who think he’s hysterical - even though he never actually tries to be funny. So well-liked it seems, that recently one of them invited him to join them in the audience at a gameshow. Mirror is always very hesitant to attend events as he, reasonably, expects the worst. But the coworker insisted, and eventually he was convinced. After all, he'd feel rude not accepting the invitation.

Waiting for the show to begin, Mirror couldn't seem to shake the feeling something bad was going to happen - but when didn't he feel that way? He'd be fine! It’s just sitting in the crowd and watching the thing, after all, so what could go wrong… right?
