for a short story in writing fiction

Vampire cowboy, who serves the people with vigilante justice, is faced with rising tensions in town because of an increase in missionaries and church conversion.

  • Stasis:
    • Vampire cowboy is going about his daily business, saving cats, chasing out ruffians, locating lost items, taking care of his horse. He has a close run-in with the sun (given that this is the desert-plains area) but his big, brimmed hat and gloves keep him safe.
  • Point of attack:
    • At an afternoon trip to the saloon, Vampire overhears that some of the locals have become more hostile to him after attending church. The preacher approaches him and tells him that he needs to leave.
  • Complication (at least 1):
    • Vampire does not want to leave his home and his friends, and doesn’t really like that these people want to burn him at the stake.
    • The churchgoers get more aggressive when the vampire refuses to leave and start to do angry-mob-like activities. They hire a vampire hunter
  • Crisis:
    • Vampire is confronted in his home while he is taking a noon nap. His horse has been stolen and he has to confront the villagers. However: he has befriended the vampire hunter. His friends stand up with him and chase the preacher out of town old-western-fight style
  • Resolution:
    • The town returns to just the normal vigilante troubles. The vampire is fine with the church staying as long as they give up their weird vampire hunting tendencies. He and the vampire hunter go on a date!
