Summary

A vocal synth program, downloaded into Cyber World by a weeb lightner in Hometown who wanted to make Miku music on a librarby computer. Probably pirated, and may or may not be loaded with malware.

Marketed as The Beyond's Initial Soundwave, and depicted as an electric angel.

Personality

Ceviola is an extremely friendly and outgoing soul, priding themselves in their ability to entertain and engage with all sorts of people. They are a patron of all arts, not just music, and they adore learning new things about the world around them, as they are rather new to Cyber City and how it works. They are definitely extroverted, revelling in the joys of crowds of cheering fans, but they can also be found quietly enjoying the evening alone on occasion.

Sometimes, they have a tendency to make choices based on short-term pleasures rather than long-term payoff and they can be naïve, but they're always willing to try something new on a dime if asked. While they sometimes have moments where they succumb to darker thoughts, they often keep those moments to themselves in order to make those around them happy and not scare them off. They can sometimes be overly competitive, but it's always in good fun for them rather than anything serious.

Story

Startup

To the residents of Cyber World, Ceviola was a sensation that manifested seemingly overnight; they easily caught attention with their fancy and high-tech appearance, and their voice was the likes of which none had ever heard before. However, while wandering the streets of the city upon initial startup, the first other Darkner they met just so happened to be a certain salesman.

Upon seeing them for the first time, Spamton could immediately see their [BIG SHOT] potential and became convinced that they were the perfect gateway to helping him become NEO. To that end, he introduced himself to them and, upon learning their directive and ambitions as a performer, offered to become their talent manager. Wanting for the company, not knowing any better, and perhaps holding no small amount of pity for the man from the goddamn garbage can, Ceviola chose to say yes.

Stable Release

As one might think, the former cungadero salesman had a hard time actually getting any gigs for them at first, his reputation being what it was. However, in a combination of repaying an old debt and seeing the merits of allowing fresh entertainment, he did manage to find one search bar willing to let them perform. That evening, Ceviola shared their talents for the first time and – almost immediately – Spamton knew that he had been right about them and their potential.

Despite this small start, word of mouth rather quickly carried their name throughout Cyber City, allowing the two easy entrance to even more gigs. Even those who normally would never allow Spamton anywhere near their establishments were willing to turn a blind eye with the electric angel vouching for him. Eventually, even Queen herself took an interest in them and invited them to entertain at her castle, giving him the opportunity he’d been waiting for.

But when it finally came time to give them the disk and ask for what he’d been wanting from the start… He didn’t quite understand why, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Sure, he hadn’t ever intended for any of this to be serious; it was just a means to an end. Even so, working together with Ceviola, having someone that really and truly liked him and wanted him around even despite everything, it meant more to him than they could have possibly known.

At that moment, he came to a profound realization: heaven had been watching him, and had sent to him a personal angel. Whether that was actually true or not, he understood that even though they could have easily abandoned him and went solo the moment their popularity skyrocketed, they stayed with him. He knew how much he loved Ceviola then, and one could only imagine how shocked he was to find out they felt the same. The two were a nigh inseparable pair since.

Trivia

  • They keep several Maice as pets.
  • Their voicebank can vary widely when singing, but their default speaking voice is Megurine Luka, with Sweet Ann and MEIKO being other common options.
  • The slider on their chest affects their volume; they can be muted if it's all the way down, and they'll mute themselves if uninterested in talking, though this is rare.
  • They have perfect vision; their glasses are purely aesthetic. Even so, they are seldom seen without them.
  • They are sometimes prone to vocal glitches due to their pirated code. The gaps in their code are also the cause of the physical gaps in their body.

Design Notes

  • Their mouth does not actually open; promotional images of them may depict them this way, however.
  • Their piano keys can move around them freely, and can often be found splayed behind them like wings.
  • The visualizer on their body changes as they speak or sing.
  • Sometimes, they like to borrow Spamton's Dealmakers, so they can be drawn wearing them.

SPAMTON: Significant Other

Despite how different the two might appear to an outside party, they actually coexist and complement each other extremely well. They also both know what it's like to be glitchy, so they have a mutual understanding that others don't share. Their public displays of love and affection can honestly be quite obnoxious on occasion, the both of them being very boistrous individuals, but they don't really care all that much about what others think.

SWEET CAP'N CAKES: Friendly Rivals

The band and Ceviola are pretty kindred spirits, both having a strong interest in music and dance, as well as the idea of acting against the status quo. While they're very friendly with one another, they do sometimes stage beef in order to drum up attention. Ceviola's interested in asking them to collaborate sometime, wanting to sing to an original beat they've written.

QUEEN: Presidential Alert: The Girls Are Fighting

Queen_overworld_static.png

Suffice to say, upon learning not only about Queen's attempts at banning music but also her treatment of Spamton, Ceviola's opinion of Cyber World's monarch isn't great. In all honesty, they don't trust Queen's attempts to invite them to the castle, worrying that she really wants to try and stop them before they get more popular. Or worse, remove them due to their pirated nature.
