BACKSTORY
. Original World
A wind spirit from the original world, Zel was created directly by the gods, though the reason why was never explained. They spent their life exploring, adventuring, and meeting new friends and enemies. However, they were one day captured by KEROS, who tried to control them and their powers. When their attempts proved unsucessful, they were brought to the world of Placeholder, and unceremoniously dumped into the sea, where they spent hundreds of years gathering energy for a physical form.
. Later
After reforming, they were brought onto a ship run by Glass, a cursed human pirate, and became quick friends with them, joining the ranks and adventuring across the world. Someday, they hear of Blair, and stumble across Eri, and they set off together, as unlikely allies.
RELATIONSHIPS
Coming across Eri while exploring the ice of Bluenin, she disliked them at first, but eventually accepted them as a friend. They set them free from their curse, though the subject of Eri's creator and Zel's imprisoner is still a sore topic.
Zel and Blair met early on in Zel's career as a pirate, but only became friends after they met a second time. Now, they're reliable allies, and Blair's connections has him often pulling Zel out of trouble.
Glass pulled Zel out of the ocean when they first reformed a physical body, giving them an oppertunity to explore the world of Placeholder, and stays a reliable ally to them, even with their questionable moral path. Her crew welcomes Zel onboard, even after she's left for their own adventures.
Zel hates KEROS more than anything. The person who has kept a free spirit behind bars will always be the worst person in Zel's eyes.
