Rayn was born in 1994 in a van on his parents way back to Halifax. They were young, and poor, but they were happy, and good parents for Rayn. He was raised by them and his grandmother, until he was in a car crash with his mother and father when he was 2. Rayn lived, but his parents were killed. He continued to live with his grandmother, though, eventually befriending the Anghelescu kids who lived nearby, Merle and himself quickly becoming best friends for life. When he was about 16, his grandmother passed away, Rayn falling into the foster care system for the time being. Aside from these events, he lived a rather unexciting life, until one night where he was out at a bar with Merle, he met a rather drunk young man, and after a couple drinks, they went home together, or at least, that was the plan. Knife ended up simply getting him back to a private area and biting him, intending to simply kill him, but failing to do so, only realizing his mistake hours later when he had both a hangover and a hungover brand new vampire to take care of. This led to a major change in his life, though the hardest for him to deal with was the fact that he now had to stay away from his best friend, who assumed him dead and blamed himself, due to the newfound knowledge that he came from a family of hunters. On the bright side, his turning did reward him with entrance into a little family of misfits. Currently, he's been working late shifts as a barista, and attempting to adjust to his new (un)life.

- very very fluffy and soft hair, with the downside being that he can do nothing else with it other than permanent bedhead.
- has a bad habit of allowing things to build up when it comes to people he cares about, until it all comes out in one big fit.
- hung out with every single sports team merle was ever on, and they all  ADORED THE LITTLE NERD.
- very prominent bite scars on the left side of his neck from his turning.
- likes to wriggle his way into tiny spaces, or when sleeping likes to be completely pressed against someone/enveloped by them or blankets and pillows.
- he's so good at mario party like damn.
- steals the clothes of people he likes, i.e. still has merles highschool letterman jacket, steals knife and venom's jackets and shirts, etc.
- smokes weed and is an insufferable meme about it.
- he has an old green hoodie and it's his favorite piece of clothing ever.
- is neuroatypical.
- owns a bow and has used it maybe twice.
- always uses his name to make puns.
- old habits die hard for him.
- sleeps in a lot.
- he doesn't have any problem riding in cars, but car accidents in any form can have him anywhere from anxious to almost totally shutting down.
- when he was a little kid, he had a crush on merle's older brother. beau let him down easy and told him he was not good enough for him. rayn was over it in like 10 minutes.
- babysits abi often, and when he does always sends pictures of the day to knife and lucy to make it look like hes doing very irresponsible things. lucy thinks its hilarious. knife does not.
- has seen the pick of destiny at least 50 times.
- has a bit of a crush on merle but will never speak it...
- smells a little like fresh cut grass, a little like gummy candy and a lot like coffee.
- he has chubby baby cheeks and he will never escape them.
- insanely forgiving. there isn't a lot you can do to him to get him to hate you. (in another timeline, michael crucified him and stabbed him on two occasions, and ecaterina had him riddled with bullets and killed. later on, he would have a nice family dinner with them both.) ((and steal their clothes ))
- dies a little inside everytime someone calls him ryan.

♦meta stuff♦
- i made rayn in the ninth grade i think?? eighth or ninth. so he's not as old as lucy, knife, ven or klein, but he's pretty darn old.
- was originally into knife but Nah. now sees knife and by extension, lucy, as something more akin to father figures. questionable, morally questionable father figures.
