traits: Beware the one with dappled pelt and mocha eyes. Locked inside, lurking just beneath his gray exterior, waits an assassin seeking revenge. The beast is not the type to care if he hurts someone, unless they give him a damn good reason to do so. In the Light brute's eyes, the only thing that comes from caring about someone is hurt. Not a fan of pain, he tries to avoid falling for anyone, or letting anyone fall for him. His greatest fear is love. It has slapped him hard across the face multiple times, never doing an ounce of good in his life. Allowing yourself to get close to him is setting the both of you up for disaster. Do not allow yourself to fall for his words, or his charm, or his flattery. Rarely will he mean anything by his words. He simply attempts to be nice, to encourage others to come under his protection, so that he may give someone a good home - something he failed at doing before, but is determined to do now. Anyone under him, anyone who decides to call him their leader and protector, can be sure that he will do everything in his power to take care of them. Otherwise, he'll never be able to prove to himself that he belongs here, alive and breathing, and not rotting in Hell for not being there in time. Though he is a rather large boy, Underoath adores foals. You could say they are one of the reasons he is still here, defending the world of Lights, because the thought of more foals dying, being killed, and enslaved just makes him sick.

history: Underoath grew up in a dysfunctional family, where alliances didn't matter, because everyone within the herd fought and made separate alliances within their alliances. Underoath, being the Prince, was supposed to be in charge of keeping everyone in order, but he had been very young back then and didn't know what to do. His father wasn't the type to help him out and teach him things, and his mother was a sickly mare who only wanted Underoath to help raise her daughter, the Princess. Not wanting his full-blood sister to have to deal with everything he did while growing up, Underoath would always take the time to play with her and show her around. Eventually, other foals began to gather around him, and he became the unofficial babysitter. It was a bit comical, seeing this gigantic beast playing around with tiny foals, but females his age loved it. Back then, he would flirt a bit, and he always blamed himself for what happened. Underoath's father arranged for him to meet a mare from a neighboring herd, Armida, in an attempt to form an alliance. Underoath didn't want to go, because he hated leaving the foals, but eventually went to go meet her. They hit it off pretty well, but everything changed once Underoath got home. Darks had taken away every foal in the herd, and killed half of the older horses, and seriously wounding the others - no one lived. But the worst thing was the Darks had left his sister, the Princess, blinded with all legs broken, laying there to die. He didn't even get to say goodbye. She was gone by the time he got to her. After that day, everything changed. He hated his family for not being strong enough to defend themselves, and hated Darks for going this to his sister and the other foals, and hated everyone else for not helping. He vowed revenge, and will stick to that promise. He was just three years old. Thread.

When he got to Wild Equines, he challenged for land and got it, Desolate Earth. He then ran into a Dark mare, RagTag Princess (Bru), and raped her, resulting in his first daughter, Street Rat.

He and Rigor Mortis (Romeo, Phan) had met about two years ago in the Free Lands. Rigor (Romeo, Phan), the Helkaer Commander, had caught Underoath in the aftermath of a kill and must have missed his anti-Dark speech that came before his victim's brutal murder. Rigor (Romeo, Phan) had mistaken him for a Dark and, being the manipulative bastard that he was, Oath had gone along with the assumption. They had conversed, with Oath feeding the other brute a story of how he had been a Dark prince and been kicked out of his herd for multiple rapes and murders. He had crafted a story laced with bloodshed and horrible acts of darkness and, incredibly enough, the thoroughbred had believed him. Oath had wanted to laugh in his face and mock him for his easily tricked mind but he had kept a straight face, asking questions about Rigor (Romeo, Phan) in return. He found out that he was a member of the Helkaer, the leader, in fact, and went on to explain just what exactly the Helkaer were. Oath had felt his blood boil at the explanation but he remained calm, instead chuckling and saying that the group sounded like fun. Rigor (Romeo, Phan) had invited him to visit some time and Oath had taken him up on the offer.

The two had continued their conversation from before. Oath talked about his fictional days as a Dark prince and Rigor (Romeo, Phan) explained more about the Helkaer. He spoke of the other members and when Oath found out how many of them there were he was disgusted. But then the commander mentioned something that really got his attention. He spoke of a group of Lights, the Versai, who were against everything the Helkaer stood for. Rigor (Romeo, Phan) spoke of them with distaste and amusement and Oath had asked all the questions he could think of, pretending to only be curious because he, too, was amused by them. His acting must have been believable because the bay believed every word that he said. By the time Oath left, he had a head full of information on both groups and a plan forming in his mind. He wanted to bring the filthy Helkaer down and help the Versai become the rulers of Wild Equines. But he couldn't do it alone. He needed help.

It was all part of his plot to bring the Helkaer down, a plot he had talked about and planned with the help of the Versai sister Allocen. He also met with another Helkaer, Wight Spyder (Azzy), whom he now knows to actually be named The Surgeon (Azzy) who is no longer a Helkaer. During this time, he raped three other Dark mares - Nikolai the Woundtaker (Bru), Saint Lerjae (Vin), and Hollywood Horror (Vin), producing the foals Jinxx (Bru), Albion, and Julius. Niko (Bru) bringing Jinxx (Bru) to live with Oath. Oath going to Atro City to take Julius from Hollywood Horror (Vin) and The Surgeon (Azzy).

While lurking around various Dark lands, he ran into a stallion by the name of Sanctio est Liberi Dies and convinced the brute to repent and join the Light alliance, offering him a rank as a warrior in Desolate Earth as long as he went to the Versai to be cleansed.

Aranu (Indi), the King of the Lights at the time, came for a visit and introduced himself to Oath. Oath told him of how he viewed the Darks and, though the King did not agree with what Oath stood for, the two became good acquaintances and allies.

Albion was stolen by the Dark Queen at the time, Tainted Love (Fishie), but was kept only about a week before returning home due to the mare disappearing. She came back shortly after, however, much to Oath's and Albion's amusement though she was no longer Dark Queen. In her place was a mare by the name of Akroma (Zoyhd) who would prove to be more of a problem than Oath ever imagined...

After some time of holding a sub-land, Underoath challenged a stallion named Camden (?) for a mainland. The brute backed down from the challenge, leaving Oath victorious, though he did offer the other man a sub-land. He was soon visited by the Light King and Queen at the time, Aranu (Indi) and Lexi (Roman) to discuss an alliance. Thread

Julius met Akroma (Zoyhd) out in the Free Lands and told Underoath everything he had learned about the Queen. Oath had promised Julius that he would not kill the mare unless he had too, since Julius wanted so badly to kill the mare, but a chance meeting in the Free Lands made things more complicated. They bantered and flirted, tip toeing around a boundary that Oath had no interest in breaking. He showed her his "dark side," making himself seem like some coldhearted brute, but a chance meeting with a lost foal was enough to make him show his soft side, to show how much he adored children. Perhaps... perhaps it was a sign of what was to eventually happen between them. Maybe. Maybe not.br/>
Things became even more twisted when Akroma (Zoyhd) came to Desolate Earth seeking comfort after mating with Incognito (Phan), the King, to try and produce a heir. Like at their first meeting, the two bantered back and forth, teasing and flirting and threatening, but it quickly developed into something more. There was a storm so the two of them went to a cave, secluded from the others, and the tension between them grew, crackling like the lightning outside the cave that illuminated them every so often. They slowly began opening up to one another, still managing to skirt around the main issue at hand, but it all came crashing down around them. Their walls now broken down, with tales of ghosts from their pasts now out in the open, Akroma (Zoyhd) asked him to protect him from the ghosts of her past, at least just for the night, and who was he to refuse? They also admitted that not seeing one another... it would be painful. But Oath made no promises to her that night. He wouldn't. He couldn't. Instead, he bedded her, being more gentle with her than any other mare he had been with in Wild Equines. Because this wasn't rape. Far from it. This was love, even if he refused to speak those words, refused to even think them. She stayed the night with him and upon sunrise he woke her up, sending her off, warning her never to come back. His walls were back up. He sent her away, telling her that, should she come again, he would not hesitate to attack her. But there was something in his tone that just... wasn't true. He didn't want to hurt her. She had made him weak. But he was still strong enough to tell her to leave, sending her out into a light drizzle, praying and hoping that it would be enough to wash her scent away. Thread.

With their last meeting still fresh in his mind, yet another mare stumbled upon his home. Her name was Abrasia (Azzy) and she just so happened to be the daughter of The Surgeon (Azzy) - Oath could tell by her eyes. She had come to him seeking to find out who her true father was, telling him that she had been raised by (and still lived with) Incognito (Phan) and Akroma (Zohyd). Figuring this would be an easy way to once again warn Akroma (Zoyhd) to stay away from him as well as angering The Surgeon (Azzy), he lured Abrasia (Azzy) in, at first acting civil though that quickly changed when he finally did mention who her father was after first telling her that it was her eyes that gave her away, encouraging her to do whatever she could to scratch them out of her own head. He then attacked and raped her. Thread.

A month after the Queen had come to his home, Underoath was feeling on edge. He felt like he needed a reminder as to why he needed to destroy the Darks, to he set out for the Outlands, Toxin Raj to be more exact, to meet face to face with the Commander, Respira (Ebon). She met him as he crossed into her lands, and soon after was joined by another brute, a stallion Oath's size that didn't introduce himself during the brief exchange (Atreyu/Indi). Oath introduced himself, claiming to come just to congratulate her on her position, having taken over after the death of Romeo (Phan), and to make himself known to her. Thread.

Akroma (Zohyd) soon gave birth to twin girls. Lush and Sephora (Zohyd). Oath first saw the girls at the Ball that happened in Eden, an event he only went to because his daughter, Street Rat, insisted on it. He overheard Grizmar (Cell) the Dark King who took over after Incognito (Phan) stating that the girls were his own. With a suspicion that one of the fillies was his own daughter, Oath gave a mocking retort basically claiming Akroma (Zohyd) must have been cheating on Incognito (Phan) if the girls belonged to Grizmar. Akroma (Zohyd) came right back at him, bickering with Underoath and insulting him - and for good reason, too. Grizmar (Cell), of course, was quick to the Queen's defense. As the hostility rose between the trio, a mare of the Vigilum, Native Dancer (Indi) approached and did her best to calm the situation before it could lead to future violence. Oath's attention quickly turned to the arrival of another stallion, however - the Shire, Charm, and, fearing he would be a threat to Lush and Sephora (Zohyd) he warned Arkoma not to let him get too close. Artemisia (Azzy), the Lady of the Underworld, later approached him, telling Grizmar (Cell) that Oath's heart was "not lighter than his own." Thread.

Early sunrise one morning, the Queen came to visit Underoath again, on a day that was somewhere between autumn and winter. She went to the cave they'd had their first intimate encounter in and Oath found her there, waiting. He was enraged, demanding to know why she had come, praying that his now grown son, Julius, would not stumble upon them. They discussed that one of her daughters, Lush, was his daughter. He wanted to see her, to meet her, but they both knew the complications that could arise from that; however, they made plans to have Lush and Oath meet in a matter of weeks. Akroma (Zo) also asked if she could stay the night with him, not wanting to return to a home filled with her King's whores. Oath hesitated. It was snowing. If she left then and there, she could beat the storm... but if she stayed she would have no choice but to stay the whole night. She ended up staying with him. Thread.

In retaliation to Oath raping Abrasia, The Surgeon (Azzy) then raped Akroma (Zo). When Akroma (Zo) told Oath this, he went into a rage, voyaging to Amdusias Isles in the middle of winter to confront The Surgeon (Azzy). He crossed the frozen waters to the heart of the black beasts lands and they fought, both suffering severe wounds, one of Oath's being a bite to the face that left the left side heavily scarred and disfigured. The fight was quick, brutal, and bloody. Afterwards, with the adrenaline wearing off and the pain becoming nearly intolerable, Oath left but not before warning The Surgeon (Azzy) to keep an eye on his mate, Casavir (Ali). Thread.
