BACKSTORY
. Early Life
Born as a rice farmer in Bluenin, he and his brother, Blair, were very close. They worked together, but while Blair had an interest in singing, Koyi had no interest in the cities. Eventually, Blair disapeared from their village, and became a famed songwriter. Starting off bitter that Blair had decided to leave him, Koyi cut off communications, refusing to send letters to Blair. Not that Blair ever sent messages anyways. Eventually, an accident occurs in which Koyi and Blair are cursed with opposing powers, rendering Blair unable to perform and leaving him unable to work. While he was originally cursed to not be able to touch water without dissolving, Koyi eventually trained with it so that he could travel quickly and silently along water.
. After Curse
Koyi and Blair never properly made up, and somehow ended up on opposing sides of the Bluenin civil war. Koyi is known as the youngest commander of his ranking, but also very closed off and harsh. Koyi was later assigned a team. Starting of distanced, but eventually warming up, he's developed a close relationship with them, though some can't see the trust they have. The first time Koyi met Blair on the battlefield, they were quite shaken at having to fight their brother. As of now, the conflict has not ended.
RELATIONSHIPS
Koyi regrets how their relationship became so sour, but he believes he's dug too deep a hole. Too many people are relying on him to lead their side to victory, and his brother can't change that.
Koyi's first friend in the army. Roan is the 'dad friend' in their friend group, making sure Koyi takes some time for himself when Koyi falls into an unhealthy working routine.
Sorrel makes fun of Koyi a lot, snarky and sarcastic, but they've got each other's backs. They've got a good cop bad cop dynamic going on.
