Seiko Stonearrow is just a wood elf who’s trying to get by. She works at a local pub during the day, located in a rather populous city, and then retires to her rented room right above the tavern. Unlike life back in the woodlands the city scene was far more different than she expected. When she thinks she has something figured out it turns out that she had it all wrong. Seiko still remains optimistic, scoping out for a group of adventure during her shift to see if they’d let her tag along.

However, because of her inexperience and threadbare appearance they always turn her down. It greatly frustrates her, but she figures that persistence is key. Back home in a forest clan of wood elves she idealized the city until she actually started living there. Now she’s a little more careful with romanization, city life grating on her into becoming a lot less excited about her prospects. Though once she learned the ways of being a Monk the spark returned, making her restless and hopeful.

Even though she left her clan Seiko still worships Mielikki: the neutral good goddess of autumn, druids, dryads, forests, forest creatures and rangers. If she stayed she’d probably become a ranger like her parents. Even in the city she believes that nature should still be respected and preserved.

"You know what's scary? A group of rowdy drunk men with an empty pint."

Personality

City life has made her a bit jaded, but she still retains that energetic spark of innocence she had when she arrived. Seiko still has a bit of a sarcastic side, making snide quips when the situation calls for it. She thinks she’s really not that anything special, just a wood elf who’s trying to make a living. However, when she learned how to be a Monk she began to really crave adventure. Most of all she wants to join a group of adventurers, setting off into the big wild unknown. She knows that if she went alone she probably wouldn’t make it so far, so she’s always looking for a potential group at the bar she works at for openings.

Unfortunately, many people just think she’s a bar maid and won’t even think about bringing her, much to Seiko’s disappointment. Working at a bar gave her a taste for alcohol, but she always practices self-restraint so never gets too drunk. Sometimes she makes her own, a skill learned by watching the owner brew some in the back. It used to be kind of crappy moonshine until her master, the one who taught her how to fight, also showed her how to make some really good mead. Besides beer making she enjoys people watching, tinkering with jewelry, cleaning, and tattoos. She hasn’t gotten any yet, so she likes seeing other people get them. Seiko gets really annoyed when people make stereotypes about wood elves, she’s been called tree licker more times than she can count.

History

When she still lived with her parents Seiko was dissatisfied with life in the forest. Besides other wood elves there were no other races, nor really any adventure to be found. Not very interested in hunting or tracking she knew that she didn’t belong in a wood elf clan. Her parents tried to dissuade her into leaving when she turned 100, the age most elves turn into adults, and have Seiko stay with them. However, she couldn’t stand to be isolated like this any longer. While trying to hunt she saw a traveling caravan and so joined them up to the nearest town.

The real world outside of the woods was vastly different from how she thought, especially in a city. Very unprepared she eventually found a job as a bar maid, mostly sweeping up after customers and cleaning. One day a man started drinking their regularly, making a ruckus as what she assumed was just another drunkard. She grew very curious about him after one day when a bar fight broke out.

Caught in the middle of it Seiko thought she was a goner until the man intervened. With a sort of twisted grace, he performed an erratic dance of blows, defeating the men who started the fight. Star-struck she begged the man to teach her what he knew. The man in question revealed that he was a monk, practicing a Monastic Tradition called Way of the Drunken Master. He decided to take her on as his pupil and eventually she became a fully-fledged monk.

One may think she’s an innocent bar maid but in reality, she is a master of hand-to-hand combat, keeping her foes always on edge with her unpredictable fighting style.

Relationships

Seiko ethusastically calls the one who taugh her "teacher" much to his chargin. She looks up to him a lot, and thinks he's pretty amazing. On the other hand her teacher doesn't really know how to handle an over-eager wood elf. He does carry a lot of affection for Seiko but is pretty bad at showing it, considering his entire persona is a 'drunk half elf.' Through sheer persistance she managed to convince him to teach her how to be a monk. Even when she was under his tuelage she had to really prod him to teach her. She can become exhasperated by him sometimes but admires him greatly. Seiko believes she owes everything to her teacher, though due to his free-spirit his current location is entirely unknown to her.

Seiko’s relationship with her parents is a little strained. She was sickly as a child, so much that all of her hair turned white. This caused them to be very protective of her. For a time, they didn’t let Seiko out of their sight. Instead of letting Seiko hunt they kept her in the house, taken care of by a few other clan members. She got to play with other children but didn’t really get any freedom besides that. This probably probably went against their plans as the isolation from hunting had her grow disinterested in it. During this time, she also read a lot of books, which gave her the idea of traveling to the outside world. Eventually when she grew stronger they tried to introduce her to hunting, which pretty much failed. Due to not exposing her to their ranger heritage she didn’t care nor enjoy tracking wildlife at all. However, she did it to make them happy until she couldn’t take it anymore, running off with a traveling caravan. She feels a little regret for leaving them but due to her stubbornness will never ‘crawl’ back to the clan.

Alice was not a bit hurt, and she jumped up on to her feet in a moment: she looked up, but it was all dark overhead; before her was another long passage, and the White Rabbit was still in sight, hurrying down it. There was not a moment to be lost: away went Alice like the wind, and was just in time to hear it say, as it turned a corner, `Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!' She was close behind it when she turned the corner, but the Rabbit was no longer to be seen: she found herself in a long, low hall, which was lit up by a row of lamps hanging from the roof.
